Paris Mon Amour Gourmet — Restaurant in Paris

The food was delicious, but the portions were small and it was pricey especially for the small portions. However, it is also extremely close to the Eiffel Tower, so I understand that the prices will be higher because of the location.

The most annoying part of dinner was that my family asked for tap water to drink (because usually tap water is free) and the water said that they didn’t have tap water, they only had glass bottled water for 5 pounds a bottle. We accepted that and just said we’d drink our own bottled water that we already had and then the waiter just came back and took all of the glasses that were on the table so we couldn’t even pour our own water in the glasses. A few minutes later we saw them filling up glasses for a different table by the bar tap right in front of us. It was just clear that they treat non-French people (tourists) differently.

The attitude of the waiter at this restaurant was extremely poor. We looked at the menu and decided to dine in. We ordered a meal costing nearly 100 euros. However, because the restaurant didn't stipulate a certain percentage for tipping, we were asked to tip when we were about to pay. The waiter, who was Chinese, said that if I didn't tip, he wouldn't help me with the bill. He threw my bill three times and refused to help me with the bill before leaving the cashier. I was very upset because of his poor attitude. Why should I pay a tip to him? I only asked for the amount of our meal. Later, another waiter helped us with the bill. The place was recommended by friends who had been there before and as it was close we decided to try. We asked for a carafe of water as some needed to take medications and we were told we would have to purchase bottled water. When we stated that all we wanted/needed was tap water the waiter refused to serve us so we went up the street to Carpaccio that had a better ambiance and less expensive food. I will also add that the person speaking to the waiter was not a tourist but a French born person.
