Frankly I find this restaurant an insult to both Italian and French cuisine, and to their religious diners.
There were multiple problems in the restaurant, most of which would be acceptable from a cheaper establishment, but also many unacceptable ones from any restaurant. they served a pasta that is not halal to Muslim diners next to us the food was lukewarm upon serving served in copper pans with what's likely a tin lining. Not only were they very worn, the fact that the lining was scraped off on the bottom indicates that diners costume some of this heavy metal. the service was mechanical, I'm from Europe myself and I'm very familiar with French service and culture... this was not it after dining, the waiter audibly complained that we did not leave a tip, despite having treated us like nothing more than a talking piece for furniture, I would like to know which part of his services he feels were so extraordinary to merit a tip? a carafe of water was not available. While not mandated in the French law, it's still an unwritten rule that I've only once before encountered in France. (I visit roughly 15 restaurants in France every year, in all different price classes and cities) the food is overpriced, were this a dinner at a typical cafe in a student pub in Brussels, this was roughly the quality I would expect. a note to the chef: carbonara is made with guanciale, cut into small blocks, and with a sauce based on a dry cheese mixed into raw egg yolks which are later combined with the pasta water to form a rich, flavourful creamy sauce. It is NOT bacon rashers with cream. For 26 euros, I don't believe my desire for a properly made carbonara are that outlandish. Due to the layout, my neighbour's arms The tables were so close together, a normal sized person was too fat to squeeze between them in order to sit on the outward facing chair.
The only reason this restaurant is receiving 2 stars instead of 1, is the fact that it is nicely located. That is it's only redeeming quality. Though hardly an accomplishment of the management, staff, or kitchen.
I read a review from a month ago, where the owner apologised profusely about the situation. I wonder, what exactly have they fixed in the meantime. Considering that many of my complaints follow the same trend as this...

I feel compelled to share my extremely poor experience with the head male maître d’ and the male barman/maintenance man, whose behaviour was both highly inappropriate and deeply disappointing.
During our visit, my girlfriend was unwell and required sensitivity, care, and at the very least, a basic level of professionalism. Instead, we were met with insensitivity, dismissiveness, and a complete disregard for customer service. Their conduct not only reflected poor character, but also revealed an alarming lack of respect for a guest’s wellbeing.
The maître d’, who should embody leadership and hospitality, failed entirely in his duty of care. His attitude was not only cold but verged on offensive, showing no concern for a paying guest's condition or comfort. Likewise, the barman/maintenance man acted with the same lack of empathy, and their combined behaviour left us feeling ignored, disrespected, and undervalued as customers.
For a venue like Emily's Restaurant, that should pride itself on hospitality, the behaviour we encountered was unacceptable and damaging to its reputation. These individuals demonstrated an astonishing absence of professionalism, courtesy, and basic human decency.
We were left not only appalled but with the firm belief that no guest should ever be subjected to such treatment. The individuals personal conduct of imitating and making mocking noises of an ill guest, in front of other guests and in front of house service, displayed as total arrogance and utter rudeness.
We would have stayed, spending quality time and money in a lovely establishment, however, felt compelled to leave even prior to ordering food.
Serious reflection or in my opinion, a replacement of staff is required if the establishment wishes to retain credibility and ensure the wellbeing of...
Read moreToday is Mother's Day, and the unkind action of the manager of this restaurant towards my 5 year old girl just broke my heart. A parent will never forgive an unkind action towards your children, especially a mother. We were coming from our river lunch cruise all dressed up, and unfortunately, my child didn't go to the bathroom in there for the rush to go and see the Eiffel Tower. She was in a very bad situation to the point that she was going to pee her beautiful dress and was crossing her legs. I discreetly approached the hostess at this restaurant, who saw the bad situation and allowed me to use the bathroom. Inside, the manager stopped me and said in my face in front of my child, "You cannot use it." I told him that it was for my 5 year old daughter, practically begged him, and I even said in my desperation, "You can take her...please, and he said "NO". I couldn't believe how cruel someone could be to a child, to a Mother in her Day, to a Turist who you can tell is expending money in restaurants, hotels, taxis, etc... where everyone in Paris will benefit from it. As a manager of this restaurant, you should analyze the situation... the mother was very discrete asking for it and you can tell that we were coming from another place all well-dress (no sneakers) and that is an unfortunate situation for her. I still feel a big knot in my throat from this... a mother will never forgive...
