Pub Kléber — Restaurant in Paris

Terrible experience. Starting with the waiter who was completely disrespectful and unreasonable the whole time. Every time we called him or asked for something (always politely), he would roll his eyes or say he was coming in a way that made it seem like we were bothering him. We were confused — we couldn’t tell if he was trying to be funny and failing badly, or if he was just being completely arrogant.

We came back later for dinner, and his attitude was the same. He barely spoke English, and it felt like he treated us poorly because we didn’t speak French. I believe that if this man went to Lisbon for a 4-day holiday, he wouldn’t learn Portuguese either, and I’m sure no one would be rude to him because of that.

We ordered 3 steaks, and he asked how two of the people wanted theirs cooked, but not the third. So the third person said, “Sorry, medium well for me too,” and HE, STANDING RIGHT BEHIND HER, started making faces, mocking the way she was speaking, ridiculing her. This behavior is completely unacceptable — and it didn’t stop there.

At the end, we asked for the bill, and everything was 50 cents more expensive. We were suspicious, but he was being so unpleasant we thought he was messing with us and adding 50 cents to each item on purpose. When we went to pay, we said we wouldn’t pay that amount because there was no justification, and we showed the prices from the menu. He, still very unfriendly, typed the price we had calculated into the card machine — about 4€ less than the total on the bill. We paid, and then he said, “So who pays the rest?” and we asked, “What rest?” He then pointed out that in very small letters on the back of the menu, it said that after 10 PM, all items cost 50 cents more.

It was our mistake for not noticing, even though it was in a barely visible place and small font, but he could’ve told us that earlier when we questioned the price. We took responsibility and said we’d pay, and showed the card again, and he then said, “Card payments only over 20€.” None of us had cash, so we couldn’t pay the 4€ left. If he had explained this at the start, we would’ve just paid the full amount by card.

A small argument followed because we truly didn’t have any cash, and he wouldn’t let us pay by card until we said, “Either we pay by card or we don’t pay, because we have no other option.” He finally accepted, but again with a rude and unpleasant attitude. Then he went over to the other waiters and started telling the story right in front of us, mocking us again.

Also, the food was a solid 2/10. So my review is: don’t go to this place.

At first the waiter was very personable, I was very happy with my girlfriend when I greeted him. However, another waiter served us afterwards, because it turned out that the first was the boss. We ordered cabonara and bolognese. This was also served to us quickly, but the Bolognese wasn't really tasty, whereupon we "clearly" asked the waiter to "exchange" it for prawns. What we didn't know is that he was counting on it too. When we complained, the waiter yelled. The boss who greeted us first came over and said that he would understand our situation, but didn't even want to make any concessions and at least waive half the price. The Bolognese was hardly touched and it's not our fault if it wasn't delicious. Arguing that others would like it didn't get us very far either. When I told him clearly that we can not be paying the full price for something we barely touched, and that we weren't made aware that the shrimp would be charged for, the chef just walked away and sent the waiter on again who shouted before and was very rude. We never had any problems in other restaurants, the dishes were exchanged for us as a gesture of goodwill and they did so very courteously. We were accused of lying, why would someone go that far? He was friendly at the beginning but as soon as we had something not liked much he was like crazy. Very unprofessional and not at all...

La peor experiencia de mi vida. Ponerles una estrella ya es ponerles demasiada valoración. Fuimos un grupo de 7 amigas a tomarnos una copa cada una y al notar que éramos turistas, no dudaron en intentar estafarnos pretendiendo cobrarnos 14 copas que obviamente no habíamos consumido. Al pedir la cuenta, escuché como uno de los camareros le decía al otro: ponle la cuenta a las españolitas, y al ver la cuenta le comentamos educadamente que había un error, que nos estaba cobrando el doble y no lo íbamos a pagar. Fue en ese momento en el que el camarero perdió los papeles, poniéndose agresivo, encarándose y amenazándonos. Pasamos mucho miedo, creímos que nos iba a pegar. Por otro lado, los demás camareros no hicieron nada. Con lo cual, están todos en el mismo saco. No recomiendo para nada ir a este lugar. Pésimo trato, pésima gestión y pésima limpieza.

La pire expérience de ma vie. Leur donner une étoile, c'est déjà leur donner trop de notes. Nous sommes allés en groupe de 7 amis prendre un verre chacun et quand ils ont remarqué que nous étions des touristes, ils n'ont pas hésité à essayer de nous arnaquer en faisant semblant de nous facturer 14 verres que nous n'avions visiblement pas consommés. En demandant l'addition, j'ai entendu un des serveurs dire à l'autre : donne l'addition aux Espagnols, et quand nous avons vu l'addition nous lui avons poliment dit qu'il y avait une erreur, qu'il nous facturait le double et que nous n'étions pas va le payer. C'est à ce moment que le serveur s'emporte, devient agressif, nous confronte et nous menace. Nous avions très peur, nous pensions qu'il allait nous frapper. Par contre, les autres serveurs n'ont rien fait. Avec qui, ils sont tous dans le même sac. Je ne recommande pas du tout d'aller dans cet endroit. Traitement épouvantable, gestion épouvantable et nettoyage épouvantable.
