What a horrible little place! Went in at 6:30 when they open with my 13yr old kid. We were told immediately that they don’t take anyone in without reservation. I went to their website immediately and requested a table. Told the person that we requested for a table and if he could please accept. He responds saying it’s not his job and started talking to us in Hindi asking us to stand on the side. There was absolutely no one in the restaurant with at least 60 to 70 seats! I was so upset, but the kid really wanted to have Indian food, so stayed there in the corner hoping someone will respond to the reservation request. Then I see a white guy with his two white kids come in, tell the same guy that they were in the restaurant couple of days ago and that if he can get a table without reservation. Guess what, he gets a table immediately! I thought I must have overheard. Then I see a white couple just sit on a table without asking anyone. The same guy comes in and says those tables are reserved and that they should move to another table! I was so upset seeing that! No food is worth that kind of humiliation! Pathetic little guy, I know this wouldn’t mean anything to anyone but still putting it out there in case it does make a difference!
BTW, there are two restaurants right opposite each other. One is Mayfair and that other is New Zawad. They are both horrible. They both treat people the same way because I had a similar experience with them both. And any bad reviews, they will say it’s a fake review from the other. You can’t make this up, that’s how...
Read moreTitle: Disappointing Service Experience
I recently dined at this Paris Indian restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The manager's rude behavior and the treatment we received left us feeling offended and disheartened.
From the moment we arrived, it was evident that the manager's attitude was unwelcoming. He discouraged us from ordering dishes one by one, which made us feel restricted and uncomfortable. This approach to service seemed unnecessary and disrespectful.
Furthermore, his behavior throughout our meal was consistently unpleasant. We were hoping for a pleasant dining experience but instead encountered an atmosphere tainted by the manager's rudeness. This not only affected our enjoyment of the food but also left a lasting negative impression.
It is disheartening to encounter such unprofessionalism, especially in an establishment that prides itself on providing excellent service. As customers, we expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of the circumstances.
While the food itself was decent, it is difficult to overlook the poor treatment we experienced. The manager's behavior overshadowed the positive aspects of the meal and ultimately affected our overall impression of the restaurant.
In conclusion, I would caution others considering dining at the Paris Indian restaurant to be aware of the potential for unpleasant encounters with the manager. While the food may be satisfactory, the lack of respectful and welcoming service greatly diminishes the overall...
Read moreModern decor, menu a bit limited and a bit pricey. Be prepared to pay for papadums too. Sweets very underwhelming for the price. Much prefer Ashiana in the Neuilly area. This is not, as the owner suggests, a fake review. We were in Paris for the Arc De Triomphe racing, and were staying at the Paris Neuilly hotel. We walked (a long way),to the Mayfair, on Saturday evening, without a reservation, as we like Indian food, and wanted a change from the Ashiana, which was very close to our hotel, and where we had dined (twice) the previous year, and did so again the following day. At the Mayfair, we sat at a table for two, inside and to the left, against the wall, on a table for two. For continuity, the decor is mostly plain, white, but clean, and the restaurant was half empty, and no music was playing. The downstairs toilets were immaculately clean, and nicely decorated. I enjoyed the food, but am disappointed the management believe my review is fake, which is disappointing, to say the least. I hardly ever give a five star review, (always room for improvement), but as the Ashiana got a 4 from me, and the Mayfair, whilst more upmarket, in my opinion wasn't as an enjoyable experience overall, hence the 3 star I gave. I have no axe to grind with the Mayfair, the food was nice, but not as plentiful as I would have liked, and the service was good. It wasn't a bad experience, it just wasn't as enjoyable as I was expecting it to be, based on the reviews it has. It's not a bad restaurant, and at the end of the day, it's...
