The meal was okay, but several issues with language barrier and incorrect orders made it unpleasant. There were four of us in our party.
For starters, we had the burrata and a salad, both were okay. The bread was good, but very hard and difficult to eat because it was not sliced fully. My aunt is gluten intolerant and she had GF bread, which took a while to come, but she really enjoyed it.
For entrees, I had the salmon, which arrived undercooked (I asked for well-done). Once they cooked it more, it was very good, but small. Another person in our party had the chicken, which was mediocre, but there were no issues with her order. My dad ordered the steak, which was supposed to be medium but arrived well done. They redid it and it was fine when it returned, but it arrived way later than all the other meals (including my salmon which was also recooked). We also split the spinach side which was very good.
My aunt ordered a burger with no bun, but it came with one. Luckily, does not have any complications with cross contamination, so she removed it herself. Her burger was also over cooked, so she asked them to redo it. When it came back, it was completely raw. Not undercooked, RAW. The meat was cold and totally uncooked. She only ate from the edges before she discovered this, but this is obviously very unsafe. She ate some of my dad’s steak, but I advised her not to use the same silverware that touched the meat because it was so poorly cooked that it likely would’ve been dangerous for her to use the same fork that touched the raw beef. When we explained this to the server, I don’t think he understood, because he laughed it off.
We had the brownie and sundae as a dessert. Both were really good and honestly the unexpected highlight of the meal (in addition to the fries which served as a good placeholder while we all waited for our food to be recooked).
This is a very nice restaurant and the food is good but communication is complicated and led to a potentially dangerous meal for one person in the party which is...
Read moreSad to give this beautiful spot such a low rating; the location and atmosphere was wonderful and the latte was just fine. But the interactions were abysmal. I tried to go for a coffee one afternoon around 4:15 and was told the kitchen was closed; I mentioned I just wanted a coffee and a little break but they said no, they were completely closed from 4-7pm to get ready for dinner service (though this contradicted their website). I asked what time I would be able to come for just a coffee or a cocktail as I was staying in the area but my meals were pretty much all set. I was told to come between noon-4pm or after 7pm. I know just having a drink is something they do as I’d seen it on many of the reviews here. A few days later before a late lunch I stopped by just after noon for coffee before some shopping - I was one of two tables at the time - and was told no I couldn’t just get coffee, I could only stay if I was having a meal. I explained my previous conversation to them and that I wouldn’t take long (and as I mentioned) they were empty but was still rejected. I had lunch plans so I left. I went back later, around 4:30, and was able to order of a coffee with no issue but the women who had turned me away earlier the same day avoided me. She’d suggested that maybe they didn’t understand because of language, but I can assure you they did as I make sure to confirm and reconfirm what each of us was saying. I wanted to go because it had been recommended to me by a friend, and as I said, it was a beautiful space for a respite from the hot weather but the hassle made it a headache. Once I finally did get service the latte was a latte and the caramel corn was good. The saving grace, and only reason I might consider returning, was the space . My server was nice too but my experience had already been soured. Another staff memento (not my server) gave my a comically small amount of water when I asked (for the second time after never receiving it) for tap water…it was in the 90s and he didn’t even fill the...
Read moreThis place is worth visiting only for a coffee or drink. The courtyard is absolutely stunning and the prices are justified solely by its beauty. As an American living in Paris for over a decade, I've been here many times. The steaks and burgers are acceptable but overpriced. I often come for Thanksgiving, as they offer a beautiful menu. Overall, the main reason I return is my love for the courtyard. I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to express my disappointment with today's food. The cobb salad, despite looking appealing on Instagram, didn't taste good at all. Even the bacon was too thin and bordering on burnt. The salad lacked flavor, except for the Roquefort cheese. The ingredients felt cheap and bland, and the chicken was poorly cooked. I only managed to finish the avocado in the salad. Paying over 30 euros for half an avocado is not worth it, especially when the majority of the salad was left uneaten. The "ranch" fries were soggy, oily, and lacked seasoning. The meal was underwhelming and almost nauseating. On a positive note, the terrace was lovely, and they offered Chateldon sparkling water, although it was pricey at 9 euros. What surprised me the most was when I asked to take the salad home, they initially refused, which was absurd for an American restaurant with large portions. After expressing my annoyance, they eventually found a miniature box, which was less than half the size of the remaining salad. This was shocking and disappointing. I overheard other tables complaining about the high prices and low quality of the food. I don't mind spending a lot at a restaurant, but it must be for good food, which unfortunately is not...
