I came here because I had never tried vegan ramen before and the reviews here were really good. They weren’t mistaken! The spicy vegan ramen (Ryukishin végan épice) with shiitake broth is so good! The broth is creamy and tasty. Although is the first time I tried a vegan ramen and it was good, I still missed the soup consistency of a ramen. It is so creamy that you miss the important aspect of ramen (the sipping of a soup). I ordered spicy but I felt it wasn’t spicy at all, so I would have hope for more spicy flavor. The fried veggie toppings are good and add more flavor to the ramen experience. Since I came for lunch, I had the formule midi and I loved the fried chicken. So crispy and tasteful, but I would have love that comes with a sauce to dip rather than the little portion of cabbage). Despite my few criticism, I really liked this place. Good service and fast. It is a small place and gets crowded soon, so I recommend making a reservation or coming early (I went around 12:30 pm). I’ll come back to try their meat ramens or...
Read moreFirst surprise: a ramen place we can just walk into and gasp and there's empty seats! I think it helped that we went on a week day and after the lunchtime rush but definitely think being away from the Rue Saint Anne queueing culture makes a difference.
Noticed that the menu was very detailed with all the allergens etc so for those with any food intolerances, it's quite clear cut. I would say the lunch menu where you get a side of fried chicken or gyozas is NOT WORTH IT because you're paying 5€ more and you only get THREE gyozas. I find that a rip-off.
Had the takoyaji not expecting much but it was nice and flavourful. Had their second most popular ramen and it was unlike any ramen I've had before. The broth was white and creamy in texture and very rich, the noodles were good, there was a vegetable tempura, a piece of pork and duck and maybe a bit too much raw red onion in there (my breath the next day still reeks of it). Finished the whole bowl and was honestly full the rest of the day.
My friend had the chicken broth ramen and...
Read moreGood place! The fried chicken has a very thin but tasty crust, but was a little bit dry (it was breast meat instead of thigh meat). The tori paitan broth had a really nice texture but lacked some salt. The noodles were good but maybe needed some character (felt like they could be chewier, or maybe the opposite: thinner and harder, but they were using the same noodles for the chintans and the paitans so they probably tried to strike a balance). The toppings were very solid. I liked the ginger flavor in the chicken chashu. The price is a little steeper than other places, so I won't be coming here as often, but I will have to try their chintan ramen: I had just a spoonful of broth from a friend of mine and it tasted...
