Sawadee Khap — Restaurant in Paris

In my country this is what we call a Thai restaurant for tourist or people that know nothing about Thai food because... It is not Thai at all. I came here today for lunch with a friend that knows Thai food very well and we got dissapointed. I've ordered a Som Tam and a Ho Mok Pla and none of the dishes tasted the way the should. My friend took the ribs, also not Thai flavour but it was good though. I think the food quality is quite good but this definitely not Thai flavour... The staff is not Thai and that's not a problem at all ! I think they just need to have a small course to learn how to cook and season Thai food because the taste was almost there which was frustrating. If you’re looking to eat authentic Thai food and flavours, I would personally not recommend going here. Although the way the restaurant runs resembles a Thai pick and choose your side dishes restaurant (ข้าวราดแกง), the majority of the dishes in there feel Thai influenced at best. The Tom Yam soup I had was overly sour and did not have a good overall flavour. The dishes were also overpriced for what they were compared to similar dishes I have seen in other parts of Paris. Cuisine fraîche et simple. Généreuse et savoureuse.

Salle branchée et accueillante. Personnel attentionné.

La salade de papaye verte est gigantesque et déliceusement relevée à l'ail et délicieusement parfumée à la coriandre et la cacahuète. Du piment frais est proposé selon les préférences de chacun.

Et la soupe poulet-coco est vraiment super bien garni en poulet et en petits champignons frais tout blancs tout croquants ainsi que pleins d'herbes fraîches.

Les prix sont raisonnables. 9€ la salade et 9€ la soupe. À titre de comparaison, juste la veille j'ai mangé chez un thaï à Opéra une salade de papaye à 11€ qui faisait la moitié en quantité et qui n'avait aucun raffinement, aucun parfum. Et dans la soupe crevette-citronelle à 12€ flottaient 2 minuscules crevettes et 3-4 bouts de champignons en conserve.

Ici, je me suis vraiment régalée 😋💕

Il existe d'ailleurs aussi pleines de possibilités de menu.

Je recommande vivement ce petit restaurant thaï à deux pas de la place...
