This restaurant blew me away…!! I was brought to the place on a date, so I didn’t have any expectations, and didn’t know about the place prior to my visit.
You’re met by front of house with a professional and smiling approach. The interior is beautiful, modern, cozy and warm. Menu’s are well presented and the waiters will happily and thoroughly explain the drinks and food.
MOCKTAILS Jeera Masala Soda - the masala flavor was extraordinarily well balanced! Holy Cow - extremely rich and creamy. Both tasty and refreshing in their own way. STARTERS Saint-Jacques Gunpowder and cheese Naan. French cuisine meets India????? Such a beautiful serving with its big flavor using seasonal ingredients and satisfying play of textures and colors. MAINS Tawa Lamb Chop Was absolutely beautiful and admirable dish to eat. This is a MUST try, when coming here. Dorade Goan Roast Just look at the pictures.. fish beautifully deboned and put together again. Tangy and powerfully spiced masala sauce and nutty crumb on the fish skin. Raita Best I ever had. Well balanced flavor - hint of sweetness possibly from chutney. DESSERT Panjiri Crumble. Classic apple crumble - smell was something else..! Slightly spiced apples, buttery and nutty crumble and the rich and decadent notes from the safran ice cream.
We weren’t the hungriest, so we went without going full on with the sides - neighbor tables sides looked and smelled incredible.
An interesting notice is the use of Masala in almost(..!!) all of their menu items, drinks included! Not in an overpowering or excessive way, but it’s there. Paying homage to the traditional pillars of...
Read moreWe enjoyed the updated versions of Indian food. Generally, the dishes were mild in heat though full in flavor. Servings were surprisingly generous. And the breads had the nice burnt edges of the tandoor. We had the lentils in a sauce that seemed to mix a blended dal, green and red chutneys and the aloo tiki in what looked like a similar sauce but actually quite different with a yogurt base. These were almost enough for a meal! But we also had the special curry and the stuffed pepper. The pepper is stuffed with chopped spiced vegetables, kind of Al dente cooked. And the curry was a mix of chicken and potato with what seemed like a Vinegar based sauce. Both very good. Nice dining room with contemporary furnishings. very busy so recommend...
Read moreVisited yesterday after seeing it on the Michelin guide and it was a great experience. We got the veg daal appetizer and dahi chaat which were both excellent. The daal appetizer was such a unique take on yellow daal. Highly recommend. The panner entree was delicious as well with perfectly soft paneer. Laccha paratha and kulcha were perfect too. Cocktails great as well. I got the monsoon. Staff was friendly and service was good. The 1 less star is for the daal and kulfi at the end. Daal tasted fantastic but was too watery and needed to be cooked still. The kulfi was actually ice-cream so should just be labeled that and not be called Kulfi. Overall best we have had in paris and will...
