Paris tour Eiffel ||31 rue du commerce, 15th arr., Paris 75015||33 1 87040775||Rm 40||Located on a bustling street surrounded by cafes, shops, restaurants, this renovated older building is the hotel where we stayed. ||The hotel staff spoke several languages so we were able to easily communicate in English. They were always helpful. ||Breakfast was simple but filling. We had the same offerings the 3 days we were there- pastries, fruit salad, cold cuts, a range of cheeses, butter, jellies, cereals, juices, coffee.||There is a vending machine that offers additional beverages and snacks.||The room was not overly large. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room had an a/c unit that you could control the temperature ||The room offers an electric kettle.||There is a cubby area with hangers and shelves for your clothing(not closet)||There are no washcloths or iron/iron board as we are used to having in the US, do plan accordingly ||The bathroom was modern in decoration with a rain forest shower head. There is the tiniest of sinks I’ve seen.||My one complaint is the design of the bathroom in this room ( pic posted on website shows bathrooms with different configuration). There is a glass shelf above the sink which prevents you from leaning over the sink to, for example- wash your face or brush your teeth. The shower in this room may also be a challenge if you’re a particularly large person . Also the towels seemed a bit worn. Minor issues. On upside there is a nice warning rack for your towels of other items fir a quick dry||The hotel is within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower -25 minutes, with places for eating and shopping nearby. The louvre and Versailles palace were short cab rides away. ||All in all I enjoyed my short stay and would stay here should I...
Read moreFirst, the location is very good, near numerous cafes and restaurants, as well as the Eiffel Tower. There is a simple but tasty breakfast. But, the room is tiny, with a queen size bed that took up most of the space. There was no place to sit comfortably: no chair and only a tiny ‘dressing table’ with a small stool. The worst part was that the air conditioner did not work, which made sleeping difficult. We opened the doors on both sides to let night air in but that allowed in all the noise from the streets below: people shouting and lots of vehicle noise. There was no fan in the room so the stuffy air did not circulate. All together, it was quite uncomfortable. Of course, we reported the AC problem to the front desk, but the guy there (who was very pleasant) said all he could do was report the problem to the manager, which produced no result for us during the two nights we stayed there, no-one came even to look at the problem. When we asked to change rooms, the front desk guy said ‘sorry but we’re full’. Also, the heating plate for the water jug (for making tea or coffee) did not work. I’m glad we only booked this hotel for two nights, we were at the end of our tolerance by then. This hotel needs to do a much better job of responding to the basic needs of their guests, and checking that the appliances...
Read moreI feel I need to put a fantastic review on here, the staff at this hotel went above and beyond to help us with anything and everything. ||I'm sad I don't know the names of the staff but I hope they see this and know how great they made our stay.||To start the male who was on the reception desk during mornings/daytime was great, he took our bags and kept them safe whilst we was early. He printed out our Disney tickets as we had not realised we had to have them printed, got us whatever we needed when asked and was always so friendly and helpful. ||Then, the women with dark hair who was in the breakfast room most mornings was great, not only did she help with anything needed, she went out of her way to make our little boy Arlo happy! she played, had a cuddle and made us feel as ease. ||I can't praise the staff at this hotel enough!||The hotel itself was in a great location, clean and tidy and had everything we needed including a travel cot for our infant. 20 min walk to the tower, so many lovely restaurants and shops on our doorstep including a Monoprix (Great little supermarket!) and a McDonalds 2 mins away for the fussy toddler who wouldn't eat anything else! ||Thanks for making our stay great, we can't wait to come back when...
