I recently had the pleasure of dining at A láncenne chápelle in Strasbourg and I have to say, this place truly blew me away. It's the perfect destination for anyone who loves duck dishes. We ordered the duck confit and the steak with foie gras and both were absolutely divine. The duck confit was cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside and meltingly tender on the inside - and the dressing was out of this world. The steak and foie gras were equally impressive, bursting with rich and complex flavors. Even the potatoes served on the side were crisp and delicious.
I can't recommend this restaurant enough. If you're in Strasbourg and you love duck, this place is an absolute must-visit. The quality of the food, combined with the warm and welcoming atmosphere and attentive service, make for an unforgettable dining experience. Even though the lady who served us didn’t speak any English, she tried her best to communicate with us and explain each plate. I truly love this place and I encourage everyone to give it a try - you won't be...
Read moreLate edit: After the second visit I have to update my review. This time the quality of the food was average. The worst problem is the quality of their products. For example, the sausage in the cassoulet was rotten, smelling very bad. Also the quality of other ingredients was questionable. Fries, that used to be tasty, this time had a ton of garlic and salt. A pity....
A great discovery in terms of food and experience. The restaurant represents the French South western cuisine in a good way. From duck, to cassoulet and potatoes sarledoisse, everything is tasty and cooked with care in a minuscule kitchen. Decor is rustic but restaurant is not spacious. Service is the worrying part, it is slow and it can be bad or good depending on the old lady. We noticed she had an empty table but didn't welcome people looking for a warm place and food. We have been lucky and it was a good experience. They should consider the menu for starters in order to avoid long wait time. As well, the waitress should...
