We visited this little gem of a restaurant based on a local friend's recommendation. His grandfather used to bring him here. If that's not authenticity I don't know what is ... and yes, this place is the real thing.

Excellent, smiling service, no upselling, just a desire to please the guest.

We ordered the Tarte Flambé (obviously since it's the regional specialty), meatballs and potato rösti with sautéed vegetables. Each item was perfect - the tarte was crisp and perfectly layered, not too heavily so you could taste the crisp thin bread base. Meatballs were light, not dense, and in a delicious sauce with onions. The veggies were perfectly cooked, yet retained their natural crispness, and the potatoes were just amazing. All this paired with a nice Muscat.

The crème brûlée dessert was the perfect ending to the meal.

Highly...

Brilliant place. I enjoyed the food, the ambiance and the staff. It's a simple hall like set-up that works well. We ate and drank well as the menu was simple to understand and combinations easy. The wine list was good with all regions covered. I think an extra word for the staff is necessary. I have seen many waiters around the world but I don't think I've ever seen someone command a floor like the lady who served us. We were a table of 10 and were in early. By the time we left the place was full and she had the whole room under control. Her English was excellent (she studied in Ireland) and her service skill beyond comparison. She served the whole room with a smile and quiet efficiency that is rarely seen. A very good restaurant and highly...

We started with the Foie Gras as a starter, which was absolutely delicious. The crispy bread paired perfectly with the rich, buttery foie gras that melted in the mouth, complemented by a sauce that balanced the flavors beautifully. For the main dishes, we had the Pork Knuckle and Chicken Vol-au-Vent. The Pork Knuckle portion was quite large, even for two people (but hey, when in Strasbourg!), and it was so flavorful that we couldn’t leave a bite behind. The Chicken Vol-au-Vent was decent, though the pastry was a bit thin. We ended the meal with a delightful Crème Brûlée, which was the perfect way to wrap up the...
