Strasbourg is an expensive place to eat, and the prices in Krutenau are ever increasing. That's why it's such a breath of fresh air to see a business like this that is absolutely fair. Let's do a little test: what is a cooked main dish you can get within 500 metres of this place that costs 6 euros and isn't a kebab, wrap or sandwich?
Exactly. Nothing, from what I can tell. Certainly not an expertly cooked, flavourful asian fusion dish of the day with rice. Soon, this will be expanded to three dishes of the day. This is what a wokbox should cost; other businesses should take note: stop shoving "sushi bowls" with 1cm of boring dry topping down our throats for €15. Little wok manages to make better tasting food for half the price. Sure, it's a takeaway, but they have little chairs outside if it's sunny. At an unnamed Asian fusion restaurant that has locations and place des orphelins and grand rue, the tonkatsu with rice and sweet and sour costs €12,90. Here at little wok? €7.50 and oh, by the way, you have a choice of three sauces and it tastes better.
You can also make your own dish, choosing ingredients to throw in the wok with your rice or noodles like at a deli.
Call ahead, make your order, pick it up with no fuss and fill your loyalty card (after ten dishes you get 8 euros!). Don't bother with deliveroo, it's just gonna make it expensive. I wish more places in the area chose to go the budget food avenue. It tastes good, it looks good, it doesn't skimp on sauce or ingredients, it's just gosh darned good and I'm coming here forever. They deserve any and all...
