We went past this place many times during our stay in Mestia because it doesn't look particularly appealing from outside. We finally tried it on our last night in Mestia, sitting in the outside area facing the road.
And overall it was the best food we had in all of Georgia, even compared to fancier and more expensive restaurants in Kutaisi. The tomato and cucumber salad is definitely the best in Mestia, second only to the one from Lilestan in Kutaisi. The grilled vegetables were perfect, as was the spicy beef stew (Ostri).

The room was basic but the beds were comfortable and we could hear the soothing sound of the river through our window (which also had a nice view of Tetnuldi). The hotel is not far from the centre of town and Spar and other shops less than a 10 minute walk away. We also ate here multiple times. Read moreWe had a really lovely lunch at Shara Khinkali House. The food was excellent ,we tried a mix of Georgian and international dishes like khachapuri, kebab, mushroom soup, Gebjalia cheese, pizza, rice with vegetables, and a Greek salad. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared.
The restaurant itself is cozy, beautifully decorated, and has a warm, welcoming vibe. Service was friendly, and the whole experience felt relaxed and enjoyable.
