All the dishes we ordered were fabulous and the service was fast and very friendly and warm. The prices are very comfortable so the entire experince is wonderful. However, it is a bit of a climb to get there. If you are on a hiking vacation, it just adds up to your day hike :). We ordered the tomato and Georgian salads which were excelent. The vegetables were fresh and tasty and the dressing was just right. We also ordered the chvishtari , and then we ordered a second one.:). The trout was fresh and well prepared, as were the mushroons with cheese. The lobio were perfect. I had the beef stew, delicious. I want to emphesize the friendly service. We came around 9 pm, it was obviously late, still we got a hearty welcome. We returned a second time despite the climb and were not dissapointed. The wine...

If you’re visiting Mestia, you absolutely have to stop by Cafe Lanchvali. It’s right in the historic part of town, with amazing views that make the whole experience even better. The food here is honestly some of the best I’ve had in Mestia, especially if you love traditional Svanetian dishes — they really know how to do it right. What makes the place even more special is the family that runs it. They’re young, super friendly, and make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The service is top-notch too — everyone is so welcoming and attentive. All in all, Cafe Lanchvali is the perfect spot to enjoy great food, soak in the history, and relax with a fantastic view....

So going to Margianis House Museum is an uphill so you better be ready with a good footwear.

Had lunch at Cafe Lanchvali, had kubdari and the Georgian lemonade, it was a big portion the cost is just right. I cannot finish so I took a take-out.

A gentleman, I think is the owner of the cafe and the Lanchvali Guest house was kind enough to tour me around the Margiani's house upon our conversation, he is a descendant of the family, he speaks professional English so it was good as we talked more during my visit.

He is the first Svan-Georgian gentleman which I had a long conversation with, very nice. He told the story of the house and the...

What a gem in Mestia! This is the place where you’ll experience what true Georgian hospitality is all about - smiles, welcoming atmosphere, friendly feel, lovely conversations, and no rip off as in many places around Georgia these days. Besides that, they have really delicious homemade food, clean environment, and gorgeous views! As a bonus - not many people around since the majority eats out on the central street. Note: try their Svan style khachapuri - it’s simply the best!
