Henry's Coffee World — Restaurant in Augsburg

Unbelievable Waiter (Ali) - he was hard to understand, brought the wrong food, paid back our change in small coins only and literally lied to us, telling us everyone has to order at least one drink.

We went there in a group of 10 on the 22nd of August. Some of us were hungry, some of us thirsty. Some of us wanted to get food only.

Six of us were planning on ordering a drink. But when our waiter (Ali) came over to take our orders, he told us that everyone has to order at least one drink. First we couldn't believe it, but he insisted that it was the manager who set that rule, not him. We all had to buy drinks. Later when we asked another waitress, she told us that their policy only askes for at least 50% of a given group to order. Ali lied to us. We all ended up paying 4-6€ more than we needed to.

After that, the ones who wanted to eat ordered their food. When ordering Salmon Pizza, he couldn't get that at first. After repeating it a couple of times, he asked if we wanted to get the Pizza "Salamon". We said yes, hoping he would bring us the correct Pizza, which he ended up doing. We checked the menu after and it clearly said "Salmone". The Communication with him was cumbersome.

When he brought the food, one of us who ordered a burger with sweet potato fries ended up with regular french fries. We didn't want to cause too much trouble so we just took the French, sliced potatoes. Again he didn't seem to fully understand us when we ordered.

I want to add that we don't expect our waiter/waitress to bow to us and pay the utmost respect but he quite literally threw the drinks on the table which ended up spilling on a few members of our group. He also invaded the personal space with no hesitation such as randomly joining in our conversation or hovering above my friends shoulder and making inappropriate comments that were racially motivated.

Finally, when paying the bill, some paid by card, some with cash. Instead of giving us the change in bills he gave us 5 euros in 20ct coins. While the present change could be out of his control the fact is the following situation definitely wasn't, he handled a disagreement regarding the payment and orders with unnecessary tension (overly defensive, rude) Instead of trying to understand the situation from our perspective he blamed us for not knowing he gave us the wrong sized drink.

Went there for a drink on Friday evening after dinner. It took ages to place an order and receive it. Then the server arrived with 4 drinks out of 5 completely different to what we ordered. 2 unknown cocktails instead of 2 beers because the beermachine is not working for the next 5 minutes, the server was quite impulsive for us to accept this change, my friend refuses it immediately and I ask what it is. Server says it’s gin and orange juice, I then say I don’t like Gin and hand it back, then he ends up saying it’s vodka and gives it back to me, I should drink it because « it’s alcohol you will like » he said. It was clearly gin and I didn’t have more then a sip of it. The other 2 wrong drinks were 2 of the cheapest and most disgunsting rhum that where served with ice that had already completely melted inside when a Havanas 7 anos was ordered. We confront the server another time regarding the rhum and he says he doesn’t have the rhum ordered and asks us what he should do. We weee too polite to say he should do his job and tell us when something isn’t working or when he doesn’t have the drink ordered instead of trying to cheat on the customer. We are pretty sure those rhum ended up in someone else’s cocktail. No comment for the Radler.

Unless you are interested in ordering very sweet cocktails hiding the bad taste of alcohol chosen by that place I wouldn’t recommend to go...

Because of the high pricing of both drinks and food (mostly drinks) I don't order myself but I can recommend what my friends told me.

It's a very nice Caffee location at the center of Augsburg, easily accessable and a somewhat nice to chill with friends.

The service is sadly really not that great. While they deliver timely, they often seem stressed and this impacts their friendlyness and service quality. It has also happened that we sat at a table for over half an hour with nobody noticing us.

The food on the other hand is quite delicious and the coffee or hot chocolate also taste very good. With this in mind, we can look at the pricing, which is the only reason for the 4* on food because 8€ for a simple cup of coffee is just too much. This extends over to small overpriced pieces of...
