We visited this café on a Sunday morning after seeing its high rating on Google, hoping for a good coffee and a light bite. We ordered an oat chai latte, an oat flat white, and a blueberry muffin.
From the outside, the place looked quite dark, but it was fairly busy with what seemed to be locals inside, which gave us some confidence to give it a try.
Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. Firstly, it was very hot inside which made it quite unpleasant as time went on; it was hard to relax and enjoy the space.
While we understand that some places charge extra for plant-based milk, we were disappointed to be charged an additional €0.40 per drink for oat milk. Given that we choose plant milk for dietary reasons, we would have appreciated at least one plant-based option being included in the base price.
The blueberry muffin was average at best.
The oat chai latte was large but far too sweet, tasting mostly of syrupy milk. You could even see the brown syrup settled at the bottom, unmixed. It also had an excessive amount of foam, to the point that I ended up with a “foam moustache” on the first sip.
The flat white was similarly disappointing — very large, overly foamy (more like a cappuccino), and the coffee was bitter and acidic. From the photo - the top section that was drunk was largely foam.
We ended up not finishing our drinks and leaving. It felt like a waste of money.
We actually regretted not returning to the café we had enjoyed the day before — we’d decided to give a new place a try, but ended up paying twice and going back there anyway for our proper caffeine fix.
The combination of poor drinks, uncomfortable heat, and added charges means we...
Read moreAma Café is truly a delightful spot that exceeded my expectations! From the moment we arrived, the outdoor seating immediately caught my attention—it’s spacious, well-arranged, and creates a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a quiet morning or catching up with friends. Stepping inside, the café’s interior design is equally impressive. It manages to be both modern and inviting, with a cozy warmth that makes you want to linger. The wall décor is thoughtfully done, adding personality without being overwhelming, and the music selection is just right—subtle, calming, and complementing the overall vibe.
Service was exceptionally efficient. Our coffee was served promptly, which I truly appreciate, especially in a busy café. For food, we ordered the salmon bagel and an egg and avocado croissant, and both were absolutely delicious! The bagel had the perfect balance of flavors, while the croissant was buttery, flaky, and filled generously.
This café strikes the perfect balance between style, comfort, and quality, making it a fantastic spot for a laid-back breakfast or a midday break. I’ll definitely...
Read moreI didn’t expect much when I walked into this café near the city center, hoping for a typical German meal. There aren’t many places offering breakfast around here on Sunday morning, so I wasn’t holding my breath. As someone with a big appetite, I ordered the Spezial Platte and Bauern Omelett, thinking they looked like the heartiest options on the menu. But when the food arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. The fresh variety of cheeses and vegetables, along with the rich flavors of high-quality flour and dairies, was exactly what I needed during a long trip. I even had to take back my earlier assumption that this would be similar to North American-style breakfast! It was so much more! The generous portions and beautifully presented plates made for a thoroughly satisfying meal. As for the coffee, while it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had in my life, it paired very nicely with the meal and did its job just fine. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, which made the whole experience even better. If I ever find myself back in Berlin, this café will definitely be on my list to...
