I don't usually write reviews , but this place deserves a bad one. We went to this place based on the amazing reviews we read, but unfortunately it was nothing as expected. The waitress was extremely rude since the time we came in asking with a moody face something in German we tried to explained her we speak English or Spanish and she roll her eyes in a bad way. After that she show us table and with less than 1 minute she came o ask what we want for drink. We were just opening the menu. On the menu it wasn't any vegan option, my brother and his wife are vegan, but we always know that restaurants are usually really helpful with this so we found a vegetarian pizza and we explained to her that their were vegan and they don't east cheese so we want just the base with vegetables, my sister in law kindly asked if they weren't having the cheese if they could put any extra topping on in instead of the cheese, and the waitress looking upset asked them? what do you mean? no, why? Rocio kindly explain again as the waitress seem confuse and she said no. we suggest a few more vegetables and she finally say ok. my husband and I ordered coffee with a drop of milk and with extra shots to make it stronger and tasty, coffee was awful totally bland pure milk after waiting for about 30 minutes for a pizza, and crepes the pizza arrives with cheese, we call her and we talked her , that we specially explained that was without cheese and with really bad manners she said chef cant make it without cheese. we asked her to take it back, my husband and I ate our crepes and were nice. It was a really uncomfortable experience, it was quiet expensive for what it is, and they charged lots for service, wich it was awful. Reading all the reviews makes me feel that they buy those kind of dodgy services were they paid for good reviews, because I cant understand how awful customer service they have and how unhelpful the staff is. We are not coming back there,...

We (myself, partner and our perpetually impatient 3 year old) came for brunch on a Thursday morning without a reservation - there was a little bit of a wait, but we were able to sit at the tables alongside the river and enjoy a drink while we waited.

There’s a really wide range of breakfast foods, savoury and sweet options that’ll cater for everyone including vegetarian and vegan options. The portion sizes are great value for money and the food wasn’t over the top sweet like standard waffle/crepe house fare! Everything is served with a helping of fresh fruit too which was a nice surprise - although the 3 year old wasn’t too keen on the cape gooseberry/physalis!

I speak terrible German but didn’t need to muddle by as the staff all spoke English and were also able to make sense of my muddled German!

I’d definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice breakfast/brunch spot in the Friedrichstraße area.

Only minor issue (and absolutely not the fault of the wonderful staff) was that it was a bit waspy outside - all drinks were served with extra beer mats to place on top though to stop wasps from drowning themselves in your drink and staff made it very clear from the outset that it was an issue so people could make a decision about whether to sit outside or not (during our visit, no food was being served outside...

I was there with 2 other people last Saturday for lunch...the place is cute & offers a decent variety of your typical ‘brunch’ plates. The problem however was that in a place that big, on a Saturday afternoon, there were only 2 people in the kitchen & 2 waiting the tables. We waited 50 minutes to get our food (eggs/pancakes/flammkuchen)..so nothing complicated! We asked a few times how long it would take & the response was: ‘not sure...we are too busy! But hopefully soon’ ...! We tried to understand their situation & waited patiently. After our food finally arrives, we realize that the sourdough bread was replaced by white bread & ....my pancakes were oozing liquid dough. !! Yup, they were absolutely raw on the inside. I showed it to the girl who was schooled & took it to the manager/owner, who brushed it off as a ‘no biggie’. Now, I’m well aware of unfriendly service and long waiting hours in Berlin...but this place takes it all to...

I choose to eat here breakfast after receiving a recommendation from a tour guide. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance because the place is very popular. I waited for a table about 10 minutes but bigger parties can wait longer or you won't be able to get a table. The food was very good, I had the cheese breakfast, with assortment of cheese and a variety of vegetables spreads with bread, rolls, butter and jam. I added a fried egg and freshly squeezed orange juice. The service was very very slow, I waited for about 35-50 minutes for my breakfast but since I wasn't in a rush I just enjoyed the atmosphere outside while reading a book but if you are in a rush this is not the place for you. The price was around 26-27 Euro so more on the expensive side but the breakfast was big and I skipped lunch that day.

Arrived 8:45am on a Thursday, and there was no wait. I was told I would be at a large table, seated with others. As a solo traveler, I didn’t mind, but it would be undesirable if I was with someone else. Also, I couldn’t use my laptop at the table, which I was hoping I could. The ambiance was warm and welcoming. Waitress was nice and food was served swiftly. However, I was not impressed by the avocado toast. As a Californian, I eat a lot of avocado toast though. Bread was fresh and dish had a farm-to-table feel. I wish it had the option to be served with fruit since it was breakfast. Overall, I could have ordered the wrong dish. I was surprised that I was underwhelmed given the great reviews. That being said, if I lived in Berlin, I would probably give Zimt & Zucker one more shot. Great cappuccino.
