For a place with prices like this I want to be mind blown 🤯

Today I tried their seasonal danish with Chocolate & Hazelnut. The presentation is absolutely amazing, stunning looking cross laminated pastry. However, the pastry itself was extremely dry and had an unpleasant texture. The taste was underwhelming and overall very unsatisfying when I think back to the €6.50 I paid for a pastry. It made me wish they put the same effort they put in the way their pastry looks into the way it tastes.

Tried their Pistachio Croissant before as well. Great product, but for within a lower price range you can find an equally good croissant elsewhere.

Canal is hands down the best in presentation. Hopefully one day the quality of the products meets the same standard.

My review is purely based on their pastry products, not their eclairs...

I tried Canal’s ice cream last summer and found overrated. On the other hand during the past weeks, I had a chance to taste their eclairs and new pastries. Their Earl Grey Eclair is out of this world. It’s one of the best eclairs I’ve eaten in my life.

Now they have added the baked goods, so far they are best ones in the city. The crunch, the flavour. The pain au chocolat was marvelous and the pistachio croissant is so good I could eat many many of them. Of course prices are more expensive than your local bakery but thinking about the ingredient quality it makes sense.

They have a small sitting area and serve coffees as well.

To sum up, I loved the pastries of this place....

Amazing pastry! I tasted the calamansi merengue and the coconut hazelnut eclairs and I loved both. The calamansi one was perfectly citric and creamy and the coconut one was so flavorful, the cream was silky and delicate. Each one costed 6,50€, which is a bit high, but the product is premium quality. The flavors options are really interesting, some are classic but there were options like earl grey and matcha with sesame. The location is lovely, very central and the shop is small and cozy. The staff was super friendly. It is definitely...

The attention to detail is superb. Pain au choc was served on a warm plate which added a nice luxury touch… maybe it just came out the washer lol but even so it was appreciated. I made sure I planned my visit at a quiet time in the day to fully enjoy peace and serenity this unique bakery provided. Happy to see they also sell Speciality coffee, so it would be rude not to order a flat white which was of course paired perfectly with the pastry and eclairs. I must return soon! Thank you Canal for providing this absolute gem in the heart of Berlin.
