I had the pleasure of visiting Mandarin Cafè for the 2nd time, and again, the ever-charming Cengiz was there to welcome me with his broad smile as I stood in line.
Their exquisite coffee brought me back, and Cengiz's warm and gracious demeanor only enhanced the experience. His expert knowledge of coffee and his knack for suggesting just the right beans based on personal preferences is remarkable.
One noteworthy aspect that I appreciated was Cengiz's patience with my language skills. Despite my being a non-native German speaker, he pleasantly continued our conversation in German, switching to English only when I struggled finding the right words. I've often found that others tend to swiftly switch to English, perhaps due to impatience, which can be a bit discouraging. So this gesture was indeed a welcome change.

Read moreHad some time to kill before my Berlin walking tour, whilst the meeting place was outside that HUGE American chain of coffee houses I am not a fan & refuse to patronise them. So I wandered a bit & saw this quaint little coffee shop. As soon as I opened the door the smell of fresh coffee & baked goods was so inviting!! I had the BEST flat white coffee that I have had in ages, as well as the freshest, straight from the oven croissant. My goodness, absolutely divine!! The decor is simplistic & understated but so beautiful, has a really lovely, homely feel. The gentleman who served me was so lovely & polite I am assuming it was his son (& grandchild) that came in not long after who were also lovely & so humble. Definitely going back tomorrow for breakfast before my TV Tower viewing. I cannot recommend this gorgeous coffee shop enough!! What a...
Read moreWhen this cafe opened I was really thrilled! It's the friendliest, cosiest cafe to sit and relax both in Summer outside on the sidewalk tables and in the festive months, especially on the weekends during the XMAS market right outside. Their cakes are really great, favourite is the carrot cake, vegan cake and I take a bag of home made granola to go for yogurts or breakfast at home! I visit the cafe easily several days a week because the people that run it are so friendly and I like the variety of milks you can mix with your cappuccino like coconut milk :) I would definitely come by here, it's also well managed, very clean and located on one of the most beautiful streets in the central area of Hackescher Markt. Just minutes walk to movie theatres, Monbijou Park at the river, Museum Island and lots...
