CHAPLIN‘S Café — Restaurant in Berlin

Please take this constructively. There is room for more cafes that can do the basics to a good standard. But I feel they are attempting to provide menu items they can't produce to a sufficiently good quality. There are so many choices around the area and doing things badly is like cancer to a new cafe / eatery.

I was really disappointed with the dish i ordered " Oriental Breakfast" (over €11 by memory). What arived a small simple selection of cheese and basic sliced meats (2 types buy recollection.) And a small butter dish ( like a really small dish) of egg and what I think was sliced chorizo and some Asian seasoning. A chunk of melon and some places lettuce cucumber and tomato...some olives.

My partner had an Egg dish (second item on left had side of the menu. It looked terrible tomato and egg mush with no care. Canned tomato and scrambled egg .

Both dishes served bread that was definitely not fresh and not of a good quality. Average day old bread I thought.

The place is new. And is in a wonderful location that will serve them well. My suggestion. Serve food you are capable of product to a good standard. And I'm sure there are such things on there menus, but these were not.

The pictures on the profile looks great but I don't believe they would happily advertise either the picture or the tase of the dishes...

On my last day of my trip to Berlin, I wrote a postcard to home to my family. I forgot the postcard on the table of this cafe where I was having breakfast before heading to the airport. Yesterday, I received a nice surprise! The postcard arrived, with a Chaplin's sticker on it. Someone had kindly posted it! Thank you for a great customer service! It's so nice to see that someone is willing to go the extra mile and take the postcard to a mailbox and not just throw it to trash while cleaning the tables.

Very polite people. Other than that it is sad to say that the breakfast was a 4 out of 10. We bought a dish which is a traditional Turkish, with eggs / peppers and tomato. It was super watery and unsalted. I was craving the pancakes and when we got them they were super dry , flat and tasted stale. The chocolate , that was more of a cheap syrup chocolate was bad and Mandel flakes not even toasted. Cherry on top, they don’t have toilets!! Is this even legal? Sure not a...
