Fase Lunar — Restaurant in Berlin

Das Essen ist leider absolut NICHT mexikanisch. Daher 0 Sterne fürs Essen.

Ich koche selbst und habe u.a. mit lateinamerikanischer Küche zu tun. Desweiteren kenne ich die Länder von meinen Reisen.

Was war an dem Burrito nicht mexikanisch, bzw. Tex-Mex?

Es fehlten im Burrito: Bohnen, Reis (nur 1 Löffel), Avocado/Guacamole, SourCream, gehackte Tomaten, Zwiebeln, Koriander, Chilis und Salsa.

Also im Grunde alles was dort reingehört.

Ein Blick in die Karte zeigte, nur Hackfleisch und Hähnchenstreifen zur Auswahl neben vegetarisch. Da schrillen schon die Alarmglocken, denn normalerweise gibt es immer adobo beef oder andere "slow cooked" Variationen. Chicken poblano etc.

Der pseudo burrito lag auf dem Teller mit ein bisschen Käse überbacken und 3 Scheiben Jalapenoes drauf. Dazu Gabel und Messer.

So wird kein burrito serviert.

Alles in allem wurde schnell klar, dass es sich hier um eine Art Mix Dürüm/Wrap/burrito handelte. Schnelle Küche eben.

Der Vorteil fürs Restaurant: Hack und Hühnchenstreifen sind in 5 min fertig. Richtig mexikanisch Gekochtes fehl am Platz.

Die "spezielle" Gewürzmischung war kaum schmeckbar bis auf Kreuzkümmel. Also vielleicht fertige Mischung oder am Gewürz gespart? (Normal mindestens Kreuzkümmel, Anis, Pfeffer, Koriander, Knoblauch, geräucherte Chilis).

Dafür etwa 13 Euro zu kassieren, dazu bei der "Größe", ist schon eine Frechheit.

Ich bin in Berlin und andernorts in Deutschland bereits einigemale "mexikanisch essen" gewesen. Betreiber Deutsch, Türkisch, Indisch, Pakistanisch, Arabisch, Italienisch.

Das Ergebnis war immer dasselbe. Burritos nicht in Alufolie serviert, überbacken mit Käse, entweder Huhn oder Hack. Zutaten unvollständig. Manchmal sogar Salat und Mais in den burrito gestopft.

Aber von Allen war der burrito der schlechteste mit dem schlechtesten Preis- Leistungsverhältnis.

In Berlin mag das funktionieren wenn man cocktail trinken und nebenbei noch was snacken möchte oder man verkauft an Touristen die keine Erfahrung mit mexikanischer Küche haben.

Da koche ich lieber selbst.

Oder gehe in Berlin zu amerikanischen oder mexikanischen Läden. Wobei hier auch manchmal nervt, dass die Bohnen als Pürree kommen (NordCaliforniaStyle angeblich - Habe dort aber auch ganze Bohnen bekommen (Beste Burritoläden BayArea) wie in RestLateinamerika).

Alles in Allem keine Empfehlung und generell wenn der Burrito so serviert wird und nur Hack oder Hühnerstreifen angeboten werden besser woanders hingehen.

Der Verweis auf fusion oder hybrid Küche ist irreführend. Mein Eindruck von dem burrito ist eher wrap oder Döner Hintergrund auf...

The place was busy and the Latino music made for a good atmosphere. Drinks came reasonably quickly (beer and coke). My daughter asked for no bell peppers in her burrito which I thought would be a simple ingredient to leave out. An hour later we still hadn’t had our food. The waiter came and said it was taking longer because the kitchen were doing the burrito without paprika. I said that it was peppers to be left out not paprika. He looked at me strangely, I said to forget it and we went elsewhere for our meal. In fairness to them, they didn’t charge me for the drinks. Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t have any. As I said the place was busy but not full. I think that they either forgot our order or the kitchen was understaffed. The waiter who served us seemed busy and was bringing food up every few minutes, just not our food...

We had ordered the nachos for the apero, but we did not get them. During our apero we were immediately served the main dish. We ordered tacos mixed, quesqdiillas pollo and a salad. When the main dish was served we were still missing forks & knives, as we didn't want it to get cold we went to the counter to ask for it... we ordered extra guacamole for the dish but we never got it. The restaurant was not busy at all. It was a bit cold(chilled) due to an open window above the door. The food was really good. Taste was perfect.. only the service was not OK. It could have been corrected to offer a coffee on the house or a reduction on the bill for the failed service. But sadly this did not happen. Conclusion great food ......
