Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Probably the best you can find in berlin. Atmosphere is fantastic. They float the sushi too you on a little sushi boat around this little river of sushi boats at the bar. They make all the maki (rolls) as half rolls for the equivalent of half the price of most places so you can eat just the right amount thats good for you. (About 4-6€ for 4-5 pieces of sushi per plate, dependent on the type of maki/sushi roll) I have about 5-6 plates when i go there and having tasted about all the maki (rolls) on the menu, there was only 1-2 rolls that seemed pretty plain, not bad, just simple wrap, rice, and fish or vegetable. Everything was surprisingly fresh for being in a somewhat landlocked country.
Most of the bad reviews ive read about this place say, incorrectly, that you cant order anything and have to wait for a boat to float by. That is not true, you can easily order something directly from your waiter or the chef who will hand it to you instead of floating it down on a boat. Most of the boats in the chain are empty because all the rolls made are so good it only takes a lap or two for someone to pick it up off the boat. Do not listen to these reviews, the place is fantastic, trust me, you wont be disappointed, just ask for...
Read moreI was really hoping to give this place 5 * but unfortunately disappointed to a considerable degree with not being served hardly any food. Sat at the bar expecting to enjoy the floating boat service but unfortunately there was nothing but kimchi and seaweed salad when we arrived. The single sushi chef was prioritizing menu orders (can do the rotating selection or order what you want) so there was nothing else on offer / the other people closer to where the selection was put in rotation snapped up everything. As the others left and I expected some more to come in rotation, the single chef popped out from the bar and grabbed a beer and didn’t come back. No opportunity to request anything further. I left having eaten 1/2 a roll, hungry and very disappointed. The meager bits I did have were really good, otherwise would say 1 or 2 stars. Very sad to leave what should be a lovely sushi spot very hungry. If you go, I guess just order off the menu. Or find another spot I am...

While planning dinner my travel mate sent me the sushi emoji-- I hadn't had sushi in a long time. Why not?
Visiting a landlocked country didn't promise much for incredible seafood, but Sachiko Sushi is hands down the best sushi I've ever had. This is coming from a New Yorker. The fish was so incredibly fresh and the flavors really innovative. The male chef we had was efficient, working to keep a full bar of diners happy.
The rotating sushi bar effect is kitschy with little floating boats in a rotating moat. I wish I could visit this restaurant again.
For out-of-towners there was an English speaking waitress...
