Funk You - Natural Food — Restaurant in Berlin

A nice cafe which I have been visiting often throughout the last couple of years. The quality of the food is good. I like their sandwiches in particular. I have a few points of criticism though that prevented me from eating there quite often in the past. First of all the tables are notoriously dirty. No one seems to clean them for several days in a row as it seems because they are literally sticky. This a serious hygienic concern that should be fixed. Even if you have self-service, someone should regularly go around and clean. Also in general some parts of the cafe seem unclean, like some seats etc. The staff uses gloves to prepare the food, however typing on their smartphones in between defies that effort. The other thing that is quite annoying is that the door doesn’t close by itself. Practically everyone who enters leaves the door open. If one sits there for a while, either smoke comes in or it’s getting cold in the winter. This is the only place I know with this issue so I think this can be easily fixed by installing a door which snaps back in. Third, are the toilets. They are too small it’s almost impossible to turn around, let alone close the door without some acrobatic effort. Hygiene there has been fluctuating. I understand that the size isn’t something that can be easily changed. Cleanliness and hygiene though can. I see a Latino man there quite often who seems to be the owner since he is moving in between behind and in front of the counter. Sometimes he has a big dog with him who roams around the cafe. Disorganized. We've been here 3 times: the first time we had a good experience, the last 2 times it was a mess.

On our 2nd visit we tried to order various items from the menu, but they had ran out of ingredients for everything we asked for. There was no indication what's available and the waiters were not particularly helpful. We actually left without ordering anything.

On our 3rd visit they had again ran out of something we wanted, with no indication what can or can't be ordered. We ordered something and sat down to wait. After 30 minutes I walked back to the counter to ask where's our food and discovered that they had completely lost/forgotten our order. We waited some more, eventually got the food. We enjoyed the food.

Suggestions to the owners: If you run out of something, cross it over on your menu to help customers understand what can be ordered. There's no rational reason to run out of ingredients like eggs or nutbutter. You can order these for several...

I honestly loved every single thing about our time there. My fiancé and I were served by a very caring and friendly woman and what seemed like her good friend. They were both so happy and energetic and they were having fun while taking care of all the guests with sich ease. This is what service should look like. Not a slave, but someone who really enjoys what they are doing and simultaneously get’s payed for it. The food was amazingggggg. My fiancé enjoyed her fruit bowl and I loved my quesadilla and my supreme sandwich, both very well presented and made with such love. I even asked for a little bit of sriracha and the young lady even gave me a little espresso cup size full :) Oh yeah, I nearly forgot. The manager was also really friendly.
