Hansik Korea — Restaurant in Berlin

Very delicious bibimbap!

I discovered this new restaurant at lunchtime where they were offering a special menu at various price points (until end of August). I decided to try it out as I am a fan of trying out new neighborhood restaurants, and especially Korean food.

The interior design is simple, but comfy. The wall decoration adds a nice touch, and overall the place had a pleasant vibe to it.

The staff was friendly and attentive, though you could tell that they had just opened the place. That being said, I'm sure that this will improve over time.

The food itself was delicious! The bibimbap with beef isn't served on white rice, but with some purple rice mixed in. This really reminded me of Korea, where I would often get served mixed grain rice instead of plain white. The seasoning of the beef was on point, and the spice level of the gochujjang was as I would expect from a bibimbap. You can choose a non-spicy version if you aren't used to spice.

Overall, the first impression was great and I will come back again. A good Korean restaurant is what this...

We ordered the Dolssot Bibim-Bab, one with tofu, one with chicken and one with beef, they were all delicious. Fresh vegetables, intense flavor and a great eating experience (the bowl comes sizzling!) We also ordered the Mandu, as an appetizer and it worked ;)

The waiter was very nice and welcoming, it is my first time ordering this dish and he explained exactly how to do it. It was a very nice experience all around.

One thing to improve: Atmosphere, I would have to say the laminated menus are not giving a good impression and the really small photos in it are hard to understand. Also, a bit of color would make a big...

One of the best rice I ever had!

The rice was amazing, it smelled so good the moment it hit the table. Every grain was soft but still had that little bite, like it was cooked with real care. It wasn’t mushy or plain at all, just perfectly balanced and super satisfying. Honestly, it made me realize how much better rice can be when it’s done right.

The prices are fair. The restaurant looks comfortable but a little plain for my taste. I felt like there was not much variety in dish though. The meat tasted good, though a little salty. I wish there was some more side dishes or bigger portions of the current ones.
