Very good welcome from the young woman at the entrance who brought me the menu on the table, good start! And then, nobody came to my table for about ten minutes, the waiters passed by, chatting amongst themselves, not asking for a glass of wine at least to start with, the restaurant wasn't full. As a frequent restaurant-goer in any country, I knew right away that the service wasn't going to be good, and so it proved. The waiter finally arrived, so I ordered wine and food. The starter was good fried calamari with a spicy sauce, the main course was roasted cauliflower, but the waiter brought me a hamburger (it was bad timing as I don't like burgers at all), which I sent back! He takes the opportunity to say quite loudly to his colleagues, does anyone want a burger? He comes back with the roasted cauliflower (It looked delicious) forgetting the cutlery, well! the title was Harissa and roasted cauliflower, harissa non-existent and cauliflower almost raw! I completely understand al dente vegetables, which are absolutely delicious (this was a very nice portion indeed) but only the leaves were roasted, and the rest was raw. I had great difficulty cutting it with a knife. The waiter explained to me that they have adapted to the customers' tastes, in which case you have to offer very spicy or simply less spicy. The problem with this place is quite simply that the service is too masculine and stressful, incomprehensible for Berlin, there are some very stylish people in Berlin you have people looking from a completely different universe who would make the identity of the place and here we find a heavy atmosphere of men between them who are neither nice nor elegant at all. It's a bit boorish. They could be in any other restaurant, pizzeria, etc. ... it's not worthy of Jamie Oliver. And when it's time to pay, he insists on tipping? Berlin is much more fun and welcoming than that, please make an effort with the staff!

Wow! Without a doubt, the worst Jamie Oliver inspired restaurant I have been to and I have been to dozens, from his first, 15 in London to the numerous airports in the UK and beyond...Brighton.....London....etc. I realise that it's a new restaurant and I was willing to cut them a great deal of slack regarding the menu, service, consistency etc..... However, I am not sure it can be redeemed, even with time. One of the biggest issues is the price....€17 for a €10 burger is outrageous. This is a total tourist trap and should be avoided by everyone who likes food as there is far better quality and value for money to be had by dozens of restaurants within 100 metres of this one. Pick a side of the river and walk down in both directions wth your eyes closed, and you will find better. Apart from the appalling value on offer here, the food is just dull, and the service was pretty much on a par with the food. Please avoid this one, and if you do go.....don't expect much and you won't be too disappointed. If Jamie ever ate here, which I doubt, he would be as offended as I was. It's pretty much the worst restaurant on Friedrichstrasse, and that is no mean feat in the busiest tourist road in Berlin! Would have got a 1*, but I couldn't do that to Jamie as I know it has the potential to be so much better. He just needs to get more "hands on" as, after all, it has his name on it! If he doesn't, then it's going to fail as word will get around it's just a gigantic rip-off. Berlin is not just full of tourists, and to succeed, it needs to please us locals, and we know better than to eat at a place like this more than once.

The restaurant was modern and clean as were the restrooms. The staff were friendly and helpful. What let it down was the menu; we were informed after sitting down that there were some items not available which. Actually turned out to be five items and when the menu is on the shorter side anyway this didn’t leave as much choice. My wife had the salad which she said was nice but at Jamie’s Kitchen we probably had slightly higher expectations. I had the salmon, mushy peas tartare and shoestring fries. Salomon was cooked real well and was tasty but the show string fries were not the kind of fries you would have assumed them to be from my name, more like sprinkles of very finely cut and fried potatoes, I would have considered them to be more of a garnish.

P.S.: Hi Jamie! I have a tip for you: watch the french movie with Louise De Funès ‘le grand restaurant 1966’ (the idea is that the owner changes clothes to check the quality of his restaurant for the quality of food ‘service…)

(I don't know, maybe it's a bought franchise, but the name Jamie Oliver is significant and we’people want to touch jamie's kitchen...we've been watching JO's videos of him cooking for a long time, we especially love his early ones where he's young and so spontaneous)

the quality of food is very bad: most likely you need to gather the cooks again and teach them how to cook or the Chef to control and taste every dish that is served on the table… …the food looks good to the eye but with the taste , the quality of the food and the preparation you have big problems today…

and about lunch: you are deceiving people! because I thought that the menu from 12 to 16 costs 15 euros in full: but it turned out that you charge for each dish please! change the design of the lunch menu itself so that there is no confusion …I understand this is a marketing ploy but I would be happier if even the lunch set menu cost 45 euros but I would know that I don’t need to pay anything extra since for example JAMIE'S BROCCOLI CAESAR costs 15 euros this is a good price for a salad but you need to pay extra for chicken or shrimp then it will cost 20 euros this is already a bit expensive for a salad since such a salad costs about 16-18 euros

I was there twice: at lunchtime and in the evening, and both times were failures

1 : JAMIE'S BROCCOLI CAESAR with prawns the salad is fresh and crispy ‘the shrimps are also well cooked but the problem was with the dressing’dip: it was tasteless and spoiled because it tasted like sour yogurt (as I understand it, the dressing in this salad should be refreshing and bright in taste)

2 : SMASHING FISHCAKES the salmon meat itself in the cutlets turned out to have a smell(

3 : KITCHEN BURGER the meat cutlet turned out to be burnt and very salty and and the french fries is hard

Jamie! Please teach cooks how to cook simple things and keep your products fresh

Our visit to the Oliver Kitchen in Berlin was very disappointing. My daughter and I had made special plans to be there on our last night in Berlin, last Saturday, October 25.

We’ve arrived at about 6:55 for our 7 o’clock reservation and we’re seated immediately. The restaurant did not seem all that busy… but we sat there waiting for about 20 minutes until we were handed a menu, and then our server went onto set up several large tables nearby. When he did return, we ordered our beverages as well as an appetizer and our main courses. Beverages were served immediately, and both the wine and the homemade lemonade that I had were delicious! In a few minutes, the marinatedbeef hors d’oeuvre was served, and it was also delicious.

I had ordered a sausage with potatoes and a side rocket salad. Neither seem to be special at all; the potatoes appeared to have been an instant mashed type, not fresh potatoes! The rocket salad was sufficient, with a tasty light dressing. Considering the quantity of food, it seemed really overpriced for just a plain sausage and instant potatoes!

My daughter had ordered the lamb chops. The first one she picked up was extremely overcooked and tough. She took one bite of it and put it aside. The other two lamb chops were prepared properly and we enjoyed.

And the waiter came back to pick up our dishes, we asked if there had been a dessert menu and after a few minutes wait, someone else brought that dessert menu. My daughter decided to have the Apple dessert. That was served to us by yet another person… And it looked strange from the start. Only about 1/8 of the past pastry looked as though it had been cooked; the rest of the dish was completely raw!!! We got the attention of the server who had brought the dish, and he seemed puzzled that we would complain that it has not been prepared correctly… Had not even been beat!

The waiter who had taken our order, came shortly thereafter, and apologized for the problem with the dessert. I graciously said that I understood it was not his problem, but rather the kitchen’s. He brought the check which totaled €86, even though the raw apple dessert was not included in that price!! I did not complain on the spot anymore, because I didn’t want my daughter to feel uncomfortable in the situation… Especially because it had been her special request to eat there on our last night in Berlin! Unfortunately, I have to report that during our three weeks trip in Germany and Austria, this was the only meal with which we were disappointed. Had my daughter not been with me, I would’ve asked for the manager Requested that the Be reduced, even though I’ve never done that before!

Well. What can I say. I was dreading some kind of I dont know what. When such a famous names comes with a venue its either a big hit or a big miss. Here goes my experience. I was seated (after wandering about at the door for 6 minutes and no que around me) at a luxury quality marble table for one (working visit) A little browse at the interesting menue and politely I asked my host waitress to explain somenof the meals. Im not so well bread lol. I plummed for a pasta dish spicy and creamy. Slightly under cooked to an absolute minimum I could still taste four in the pasta . 1.5- 2 mins more should have been ideal. The cream in the middle was out of a fridge and freezing cold dumped straight in the mixdle of a moderately warm dish which made the whole middle of the meal COLD. Having had to wait 20 minutes for such a basic dish was not welcomed as I was eating alone and its only Tuesday 🤔. My waitor was extremely polite and spoke excellent English and allowed me to practice a little German also. Helping the untravelled beginner along some. The atmosphere is so laid back here I could quite happily nod off after dinner. Very ambient and needed in the heart of the City of Berlin. Desserts look a bit yummy. We shall go for the appel strudel. Always a fav if mine so its a big test in my eyes lol. Pizza dough is far ti heavy for a dessert. This was a complete fail. It was rubbery and to thick and impossible to cut with a spoon, I was even given knife with my pudding. Taste was basic. Buf the strudel should be a flacky pastry. Cheap pizza dough is NOT A DESSERT accompaniment to apple and raisin filling. A pizza beagle. Again 20 minute wait between courses is not a welcome thing when you are sat alone. I even had to wait a further 15 minutes before opportunity to pay and leave was offered to me. 7pm arrival 9.15pm leave. 2 courses. July 30 2024 8pm local time. For some reason thisnreview is not being seen by annyone. Nice to know they are hiding bad reviews to...
