Peter Pane — Restaurant in Berlin

The environment was nice, playing 90’s music. Serving was too slow we waited about 45 minutes after we ordered our burgers. Fried potatoes were refried and the burgers were not satisfying at all. But the worst thing was the customer service. When we asked the bill, the waiter (which was not the smiley and pleasant waiter that took our order at first) asked us if everything was fine. We told him that one of our burgers had to come with fried onions and instead we got raw onions. Besides not apologizing, the waiter answered that raw onions are better than fried. We politely told him that’s one thing that we should know before we ordered and not afterwards and that raw onions are not our appetite, so we removed them, plus that we re gonna pay for something that wasn’t as we ordered. He became really arrogant and rude, telling in an offensive way that the bill will be minus 50cents and we told him that the problem is not about the 50cents. We did tell our minor displeasure because he asked “if everything was fine”. (No mention what would happen if we told him anything about the refried potatoes or that the meat didn’t meet our expectations). We thought rudeness would stop there. He came back with the bill and although we thanked him and paid the whole price, he grabs out a coin lefting it on the table telling us completely arrogant “here’s your 50cents”.

Tips:If the only answer you expect from somebody is to tell you that everything is fine don’t ask. The all thing could just end with an apology and a happy smile…

My wife and I dined here a couple of days ago. She wanted to get doner yet again, but I didn't want spicy food the night before a lot of international travel. I'm so glad we tried Peter Pane because it was the perfect relaxing dining experience we needed for our last night in Berlin. They have a large pleasant beer -garden-like patio in a courtyard in the back of the restaurant that we really enjoyed with the nice weather. It seemed like there was primarily one waiter covering the back patio, but he was a rock star and very attentive to us and all the other customers. I don't remember his name, but he had a really short haircut and lots of tattoos. He was awesome, hard working and patiently let me work on my deutschsprechen, which is nicht so gut. My wife and I both got different types of grilled chicken burgers which were delicious. We also got the mixed fries with onion rings appetizer which was also good. I ordered a 0.5L heffewiezen which was refreshing and great tasting. It was only 4 euro which is really cheap c o.pared to the US. Our kids didn't join us, but stayed back at the flat. We ordered chicken tenders for takeaway to bring them. They were also really high quality and the kids said they were really good. If we make it back to Berlin, I would certainly consider dining at Peter Pane again. We had a great meal with great service at competitive prices. We when to this restaurant after seeing the reviews online as we were staying in the NH hotel close by. The service we received personal opinion was a 5/10. The design of the restaurant was very nice 8/10. We had 2 Burgers 2 fries and 3 beer and paid €70 with tips not a bad price. Here I would like to say that I don’t often write reviews and very rarely a bad review as I am a business owner my self and now how much it can affect business. I had the burger with nachos and this is the reason I am writing this review. We were with my one year old baby and my wife. The taste of the burger was nice but it had a funny aftertaste and as it was my first time in Germany I thought it might be some spice or herbs they use. I gave some of the burger patty to my one year old something I would regret. That night both me and my daughter suffered food poisoning we were very sick. This destroyed our family holidays. 2 days were spent in the room as both me and the baby were sick. This was the only meal that me and the baby shared and my wife did not.
