Katchi Ice Cream (Hackescher Markt) — Restaurant in Berlin

After trying 5 flavors: chocolate, matcha, mint, passion fruit, blueberry yogurt. Below you can see the pros and cons of my recent visit to Katchi ice cream and why the rating is 3 stars:

Pros: Variety of flavors Tasty gelato Big portions Not too sweet Fast service Place to sit Nice shop location Pet friendly Cashless payment possible Have cookies and other options

Cons: Expensive relatively to the offered quality and comparatively to other similar shops or even better shops The gelatos has something not matching something too crunchy between the creaminess or even frozen chunks which was really weird for me The cookies even if I didn’t try them looks completely unappealing more

The matcha was very good but has in it one big frozen chunk also the mint was very light which i kinda liked it, otherwise the passion fruit was a bit too acidic, the chocolate chunks in the chocolate gelato was tasty but has too crunchy chunks felt not matching

Overall the experience...

I was so exited to eat at the new Katchi in Mitte and was not disappointed. I have to say it’s the best vegan ice cream in Berlin I have eaten, and I love that there is a variety of creative vegan options (Pecan Cookie Crunch was my favorite!) instead of only a couple sorbets like it is at other places. I do wish there was a vegan version of their milk chocolate ice cream though 🤔.

The staff is very kind, the customer service is great (which is hard to find in this country). I felt very welcomed there as a queer person and it’s lovely to see people from the community scooping ice...

Amazing vegan ice cream options 😻 came in and they had only two but mentioned they normally have more, I tried both and couldn’t decide so I got both. One was called something Willie Wonka and the other one was something with coconut.
