This fabulous little Italian Pizza Restaurant was a recommended to us by a very good friend, we went to it and we loved it. It was a weekend night and very busy (always a good sign for a place where we eat) so we had a short wait. Have to say at this point the waitress staff were very friendly and helpful in getting us a table as it was late evening and they end pizza cooking at 9'o'clock in the evening. Menu was in many languages another plus for customers. Our pizza order arrived at the table a couple of minutes after we put it in, I was impressed because the pizza and flatbread they sell are made to order and cooked in a clay oven so the crust has a charred top layer on it which made the taste all the more sublime. A very high plus point is the price, very reasonable and lower than what you will pay in a supermarket for quality food. An excellent quality place to eat, an 11 out...
Read moreFirst of all, they don’t have stracchino. Even worse, they don’t even know what stracchino is. How can you possibly manage a restaurant called Piadina, serving piadinas, and not even know what stracchino is? Truly unbelievable.
As for what we actually ordered: The Piadina Prosciutto Crudo was somewhat okay but still well below average. Probably the worse piadina I have ever eaten in my life. The ham was cooked, which is incorrect—it should be added on top after the piadina is cooked.
The Alici Piadina was terrible. The fish smell (which by the way were anchovies, not alici) was so bad that we had to move the plate to the next empty table. When we pointed this out to the staff, they were dismissive and slightly rude, insisting that everything was fine.
It’s such a pity because the place itself is nice and has a lot of potential....
Read moreLa Piadina serves soul warming soups at around 5€ a piece - but don't let the price fool you - this is an authentic Italian restaurant with a giant wood-fired oven and freshly made in-house baked bread. The piadinas are to die for and the soups never disappoint (the pumpkin soup especially, for those colder days and nights). I regularly eat here 2-3 times a week due to it's proximity to my work and I've never once left unsatisfied.
Note: as a vegetarian, I haven't tried any of the meat dishes, but my colleagues swear by them too. Good amount of veggie options off the bat and they don't mind switching out ingredients for the pizzas and piadinas, however the soups are not made to order, that is the only...
