A disappointing visit to the Morelos. Flew in from the UK to catch up with an old friend & take in a concert at the Tempodrome. We had about 75 mins to eat & having looked at this place when passing earlier in the day decided it looked good. However when we arrived the place was very busy which is always a good sign. The waiter & 2 waitresses were clearly rushed off their feet but managed to avoid any eye contact or acknowledgement to us or the couple who were waiting behind. 15 mins we patiently waited until we were shown to a table for 2. We eventually got some menus & due to our time restrictions we quickly made a decision on what to order. However, trying to get someone to take our order was pretty much the same as trying to get a table. Little or no acknowledgement. Unfortunately i cant comment on the food which looked really good as another 10-15 mins passed & still no sign of a waiter/waitress. Concerned about the time we had before the concert, we decided we couldn't risk any further delay & so got up & left. I appreciate they were very busy & clearly didn't have enough staff but the lack of acknowledgement or communication whilst waiting to be seated & then to be left with menus but no service is really discourteous & unprofessional. If they had been a bit more open & honest about whether or not they could seat & serve us, that would have been absolutely fine & we could have made our decision based on that. But to spend 25-30 mins in a restaurant & still leave having not eaten is really poor I highly recommend the food stalls at the Xmas...
Read moreWhat do you say about a German restaurant, owned by an Indian, serving Mexican/Steakhouse fare? Probably that it's a little confused.
For dinner, I chose the beef/lamb fajitas. The menu makes sure to mention the Mexican-side of the offering is "authentic". I would say there is very little authentic about it -- from the carrots/zucchini served with the steak, to the actual seasoning.
However, that's not to say it's bad. I actually found the fajitas to be good. I certainly found some Indian influence in the spices, and the squash/carrot mix on the fajita tray was not bad. I found the salsa to actually be quite nice, though I wish I had a large bowl with side of chips like we see in most Mexican places.
But, my biggest disappointment was lack of rice and beans. Even the most unauthentic Mexican places serve rice and beans. I was shocked to not see this come out. Frankly, I found meat+vegetables+3 tortillas needed a side of some sort.
I would not go back for Mexican. However, the dry-aged steaks looked...
Read moreThis was the worst food I have eaten, ever. Everything on my and my partners plate was old! The meat we got was obviously made from frozen produce. The chicken was so long fryed that I thought the meat would turn into powder. The olives were so old and dry that they had turned white... like three weeks ago? The veggies that are supposed to be freshly cut, im sure were cut like two days before. I got corn that was black and completley disgusting. This is not a genuine mexican restaurant. The only thing that was ok, was the soda, and even that did not taste like real cola. These are only a few of many bad experiences from here!!! The waitress was very polite at first, then we told her how bad the food was she got really stressed and even made us pay for the food! We were the only clients in this restaurant, and it took them 55miniutes to cook out meal!! We had food that would not take them more than 15-20 minutes to make. Don't make the same...
