We visited this restaurant today as we have been staying at a nearby hotel and the restaurant looked to be of reasonably good standards. However, as soon as we started ordering, the particular waiter who was serving us (he identified himself as Mithilesh, although I doubt this was his real name) became extremely rude and spoke to my elderly and disabled father in a very derogatory tone. We continued dining since it was quite late and we were very hungry. I will not complain about the food as this was decent. But the alcohol we ordered was diluted and probably some cheap stuff being passed off as single malt. We wanted to give some feedback to the waiter when we asked for the bill, but at this point, he became so aggressive that we ended up having a really heated argument with him. Thankfully the restaurant was empty (I know why now), but we left feeling extremely humiliated and insulted. As paying customers, this is not the kind of service or hospitality one would ever expect. The guy even claimed to be the manager, but his colleague said he wasn’t the manager. I would never recommend this place to anyone going forward. I’ve now read several other negative reviews of I suppose the same waiter, and this place must take urgent action against him to save their own business.
Upon leaving this review, the restaurant has responded with false allegations against us. Point to be noted: there are numerous other negative reviews about the same racist and incompetent waiter, who dishonestly claimed to be the manager of the restaurant. As a lawyer living and working in the UK with frequent business in Europe, I need not be lectured on manners and ettiquetes. Instead, the restaurant should consider spending its precious resources on training and educating their staff, else, very soon, legal action will be...
Read moreNaina Restaurant in Berlin is a mixed bag. Here's my review based on my experience:
Food: 5/5 The food was great, with a variety of Indian dishes to choose from. the restaurant has its strengths in culinary offerings.
Service: 3/5 (thanks to Swadi) The service was a highlight, thanks to Swadi, who was extremely nice and attentive. However, another staff member, a guy with specs, was rude when i asked for a phone charger. Additionally, the lack of tap water was noticeable, especially since you've come from other Indian restaurants in the Schengen area that offer it.
Overall Rating: 4.5/5 Considering the good food and Swadi's excellent service, I'd give Naina Restaurant an excellent rating. However, the rude behavior from another staff member and the absence of tap water bring down the overall experience.
Recommendation If you're willing to overlook some service inconsistencies, Naina Restaurant is worth trying for its food. However, be prepared for potential issues, and don't hesitate to ask for Swadi if you want a more...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious Indian food with a Large menu! With a page listing of plates for even vegetarians and even Vegans, they think of everyone. There is a wonderful outdoor patio for dining, (which is a must when in Europe!) The inside is also spacious and has a lot of charm. My server was Deep and I truly appreciated her cheerful smile and her great service!! I found the prices reasonable, my chosen plate about 15€ and my Mango drink with rum was delicious and delightfully priced around 10€. I highly recommend adding Naina to your restaurant...
