Neuhaus Berlin — Restaurant in Berlin

I’ve been to this shop twice and each time I bought around 60 euros of chocolate, the chocolate is nice but the service and atmosphere of the shop takes all the joy out of chocolate, it is so easy to sell chocolate which makes everyone happy, how can this shop get it so wrong? The staffs are cold and somewhat seem unhelpful and arrogant, every time I touch something someone would immediately come over to me or follow me and guard their treasured chocolate in a very judgmental way. I’ve been the to original Neuhaus in Belgium and it is totally different where people who works there are actually happy, which in this shop everyone seems miserable. Another chocolate shop Rausch down the street is way better and since my second visit to Neuhaus I gave it up and decided to never go back again.i rather spend my money to some shop that is nice to me. 2 star is already a generous rating...

The chocolate is a 5/5, but the staff are 1/5. Every time I go to Neuhaus in Berlin I have to gear up beforehand, because I know how cold and unapproachable the staff will be. They either hate their job or they think that they are better than everyone else - either way they treat you like you do not belong in that shop.

After two years in Berlin I am yet to have a nice experience at Neuhaus. It’s a huge shame, seeing that the chocolate is excellent (as well as expensive, although I think it’s worth it).

The older brunette woman working at the front was very rude. I spent over a 100 Euros at the store, so I’m not sure what her problem was with me asking for samples, but that’s not how you secure a sale. Luckily for her I’m just a traveler who wanted to bring back chocolates so I was patient with her attitude. I went to the chocolate shop a block up, Rausch Das Shokolaudenhaus the next day and had a much better experience without the pompous attitude and I completely regret doing business with Neuhaus.
