4.7 star avg rating on Google. Well, I really don’t know what to say and where this is coming from. Has people’s taste reach such a low level? Are they so inexperienced? Or is this maybe the rating of the time they had with their friends?

So Ambience was ok. Nothing to write home about but ok.

But then

Despite this place being packed the place is chronically understaffed. You wait to be seated. You wait to be able to articulate your order you wait for the cocktail. You wait for the bill.

Once you were seated you quickly notice being in a cloud of cigarette smoke. Some guests literally chain smoking.

But hey maybe I wouldn’t even mention all the other annoyances when the cocktails we came for were any good. Honestly I don’t remember when was the last time I drank so below average cocktails! They were their signature cocktails… I’m shocked.

Unique drinks. Good service. Great atmosphere. Went in after dinner for drinks, got the espresso with the pairing and the watermelon clear drink (can't remember exact name) both very good but don't go in with the expectation of finding your usual cocktails as these are very different - not in a bad way. The ingredients will hint for the ones of a similar name being different than what you might expect. Also got free water and roasted corn instead of nuts which in this day with allergies is amazing to find. The guy serving was running the place all on his own and still managed to be friendly and provide...

Insgesamt ein cooles und vielversprechendes Konzept (eigenkreierter Drink samt passendem eigenkreierten Sideshot). Die Location ist der Gegend angemessen und man bekommt sofort etwas zum knabbern und zu schlürfen hingestellt während man nur kurz auf die sehr freundliche Bedienung wartet. Insgesamt also ein perfektes Setting für einen perfekten Drink…der blieb leider aus. Zunächst muss man sich mit dem Smartphone durch die Onlinekarte scrollen. Was zunächst eine coole Idee ist, grad bei wechselnden Kreationen, bereitet bei längerer Entscheidungszeit echt Kopfschmerzen. Ich geh ja da nicht hin um gefühlte Ewigkeiten aufs Handy zu starren. Das hatte mich beim ersten Besuch schon gestört und beim zweiten nur noch genervt. Insgesamt habe ich dort 4 verschiedene Paarungen ausprobieren dürfen und noch einmal doppelt soviele von meinen Mitstreitern am Tisch. Für eine Preisrange von 11-14€ pro Paar war es schon überraschend, dass für einen Cocktailliebhaber kaum etwas gab was diesen Preis geschmacklich rechtfertigen hätte können. Es wirkt irgendwie zu bemüht etwas geschmacklich neues kreieren zu wollen und man endet in Geschmacksrichtungen die an verbranntes Plastik erinnern (Sideshot KingKong) oder einfach komplett Over the top sind…aus mehreren Richtungen…so dass man auf Grund der Zutatenliste überhaupt keine Rückschlüsse auf das Ergebnis ziehen kann. Kurzum: Zuviel gewollt statt wirklich performt. Der Preis wird hier auch durch die Szenelage bedingt aber in keiner Weise durch das Produkt gerechtfertigt.
