Empty tourist trap decent food, petty and vengeful staff. Changed £3.40 for each glass of tap water, I don’t need to explain why that’s absurd. The food was competent.

The food? Competent. Nothing special. Could’ve been good years ago, now it feels like a parody of a once-decent restaurant — coasting on reputation, resenting its customers, and charging for the air you breathe.

Petty staff, lifeless atmosphere, overpriced for what you get. Avoid unless you enjoy being quietly punished for existing.

Places like this don’t feed people — they drain them.

I am not a cynic, I don’t like being critical in trying to hold up a mirror: I love food, I love cheap eats, I expected this to be £9 per person, hell the menus images online said so, turns out it’s pre Covid and they jacked up the prices. Avoid unless you want to pay for £21 Schnitzel that’s seriously the blandest in the city.

Find somewhere...

As a finale to the international travel fair ITB Berlin, we chose the neighborhood pub next to the hotel - Stadtklause. It turned out to be very pleasant, full of people and offering delicious dishes. We tried schnitzel and meatballs with a mix of ground beef and pork, which are uniquely prepared. Of course, we toasted the successful fair with beers. It turned out that we came across a very old restaurant that represents the history of the Anhalter Bahnhof area. It was created in the middle of the 19th century and works to this day. The story is presented in the form of a mini-exhibition with selected photographs and short portraits of arriving and departing Berliners. "Our conceptual idea is essentially to provide guests with a place to stop by presenting a historical environment of the old station", said...

If you want some of the best Schnitzel in a rustic setting with much history, Stadtklause is the place.

I have to say the service didn't start out very strong but progressed & ended very well with smiles and our server taking a picture of us.

We ordered the mixed sandwiches (small) which was a lot of food as a starter for two people. (Could have been a meal by itself). Think Charcuterie with sliced sandwich bread. Meats & cheese were tasty.

For main, we both ordered the Schnitzel which was excellent. Perfect amount of breading & very tender. A lot of food-we could have shared one. The added egg option looked really appealing also but so much food...we paired it all with the draft Pilsner which was very good

This is cash only so bring those Euros. Overall, wonderful experience and excellent...

Hole in the wall restaurant with great food and beer! The pork cutlet (schnitzel) with fried potatoes and two fried eggs was amazing, with some pickles and sauerkraut to boot. I've rarely left a review while I'm at a restaurant but I have to make sure to share about this great place! The place is very compact - we were seated upstairs and I stand up all the way up here but it doesn't matter once sitting down. Also, the "dark beer" on tap is wonderful - they told me it is St. Marienstern Klosterbräu (dark). I'm very happy...I'm glad even that I skipped lunch to fully enjoy this place. Food is reasonably priced and good portions.
