Ristorante Diomira — Restaurant in Berlin

I thought the food was very tasty — not the best meal of my life, but definitely not bad and above the avarege in Berlin. The spinach cannelloni had good flavor, though I think they might’ve used a high oven temperature to cook it faster, which made the top a bit dry. Still, the pasta itself was nice and the sauce was good quality. There was plenty of spinach inside, which I liked.

The bread was fresh — definitely not old — and the atmosphere gave off a real Italian vibe. It smelled like wood in a good way, and you could tell the wood used in the decor was real, not cheap or fake. They clearly put some thought and money into the place. The tables had proper fabric tablecloths, with two layers plus a runner, and there was even a little LED candle adding to the cozy feel.

There weren’t traditional waiters — it seems like the owners or staff are the ones serving, perhaps because I went in at noon.

The cutlery was average, and the napkins were paper, not cloth. One thing that really stood out was the bathroom — it was excellent: clean and well maintained.

Overall, I had a good experience. The food was enjoyable, the place had charm, and I’d say it’s worth checking out if you’re in the area.

When we arrived we got greeted nicely, probably by the owner, this made us feel welcome. The garden looked nice and was quite cozy! We got helped quickly but unfortunately the server barely said anything.. causing the feeling of being welcome to vanish. When we ordered the food got served quickly, that’s good, but we had a feeling the food was old. One of my friends ordered a dish and the dish she got wasn’t the same as the dish she ordered, the reason why was because the menu changed, and we got the old menu. Some pages of the menu’s were also missing. My other friend ordered a pasta carbonara and got a pasta bolognese, that problem got fixed quickly fortunately! One star for my pasta, it was delicious. My husband, on the other hand, got a paper in his lasagna, somewhere between the layers. And the waiter didn’t even say sorry, when we showed him the paper, he just said: “I can bring you another one”. Husband refused, because he just lost his appetite and didn’t want to get another lasagna with fear to find another peace of paper. So at the end, we didn’t receive any “sorry about that”, and we got the bill including this lasagna because “we offered you another lasagna, you said no” and because “its just a baking paper, it sometimes gets into lasagna”. So, horrible service and reaction to this, thank you for at least giving us a half percent off lasagna, just because I asked for it and explained that we didn’t even finish it and having a piece of paper in it is not normal.
