Café Goldjunge Köln Innenstadt — Restaurant in Cologne

A small Cafe that is nicely decorated and has a nice feel to it! The ladies serving were really warm, welcoming and attentive. My partner and I had the special winter drinks which were a chocolate and roasted peanut latte macchiato and an almond latte macchiato. The chocolate peanut drink was enjoyed by us both. The almond macchiato was very much almond flavoured (it does have almond syrup in it and this is stated on the menu), for us, maybe a little too much almond flavouring so next time would probably pick a regular coffee like a cappuccino or regular latte instead. I had one of the breakfast plates with different cheeses, bread, salad and a fruit salad. The cheese and fruit salad were lovely and fresh. In my opinion, it was a big meal for a breakfast meal but still tasted good. My partner had the chocolate porridge with a side of red beetroot sesame cream and bread. We probably wouldn't have the porridge again but definitely will try other things on the menu if we find ourselves in Cologne...

Negativ: Serving of food took 40 minutes Food was not good Scrambled eggs was rather a sad omelette and was very salty We also ordered a vegeterian breakfast which was very basic with the salad topped on the plates it was tried to let the serving appear bigger prices are in relation to the food considerably high

Finally, the vegan/ alternative touch is not executed well. The taste of the vegan substitute is very bad Leberwurst(=Liver sausage).

We discovered this wonderful café on our way to the cathedral and were so glad we did. The service was a standout; the staff were genuinely welcoming and helpful from the moment we walked in.
