I can't recommend Augustiner am Heumarkt highly enough for anyone seeking an authentic German dining experience in Köln, especially for special occasions like weddings. For my daughter's wedding, I made reservations from the US and was pleasantly surprised by how accommodating Franziska and her team were.

As the wedding date approached, we had to adjust our reservation times due to some scheduling changes. Franziska was incredibly flexible and worked with me to ensure everything went smoothly. She even coordinated with a local bakery we collaborated with for the wedding cake, to make sure the cake was delivered seamlessly to the restaurant. This level of service truly made our celebration feel extra special.

We chose Augustiner am Heumarkt not only for its genuine German atmosphere but also for its thoughtful vegan options, which were perfect for one of our guests. The food & beer were nothing short of delicious! Each dish was generously portioned and beautifully presented, showcasing the best of German cuisine.

The service throughout our celebration was exceptional. From the moment we walked in, Franziska and her team made us feel welcomed and valued. They were attentive without being intrusive, which is a fine balance to strike. The highlight was undoubtedly the unveiling of the wedding cake, they made it a truly memorable moment.

Amazing food, really enjoyed proper German food here I had the sausage with a giant pretzel, I forget the sauce or actual dish name but it was amazing as was the beer, not expensive here and great services.

My partner is vegetarian and had the Spätzle which we had searched for various places unable to find it, this place did not disappoint she was over the moon with the food. Beautiful authentic little German eatery and gave everything you'd want from outside dining, speedy and well presented, pleasant staff. My only complaint is that we walked passed it a few times before deciding to try it on our final day in Cologne... We would have eaten here a few times I suspect if we had seen it just a bit sooner.

Noteworthy there was quite a few wasps that day, we had chosen to sit outside unfortunately - although they never bothered us that much, just slightly annoying. Does not detract from the amazing food but perhaps sit inside if the...

I ask for lemonade as they have on the menu and the waitress brings me Sprite, which it was clear as she said it. Then when I say that's not what I order, she gives it back and another waitress brings me the same glass saying that is lemonade. I then ask her whether if it's Sprite or not and she said that it is, but they call it lemonade. Then I said that I don't want it, because it was not what I ordered and if I could instead have tap water, which I confirm with her that it is for free, and when the bill comes, they force me to pay for the Sprite that I didn't want and I didn't drink in the first place by saying that they gave me tap water instead for free, but I still would have to pay for the Sprite that, again I didn't drink. This is extremely shady and totally unnecessary. I work in hospitality and this is not the way to treat a customer. Totally disappointed, hope the manager takes measures...
