Date of visit: June 24, 2023 around 9:00 am. Ordered: Latte macchiato and lemon berliner. General impression: At first glance it all looks nice and well cared for, but after a quick look you can clearly see how dirty the ground is at the back.
When we arrived at this "shop" there were about 8 people in front of us. When we order something in Kamps in Essen, with this number of people in front of us, we are served quickly. We had a connection 10 minutes later in Cologne with another train, so we had the impression that this should work because we are always used to a fast service by Kamps in Essen.
Unfortunately this was not the case this time, the staff are more concerned with themselves and working "without much effort". You could almost get the impression that they are models parading on a catwalk instead of working in a takeaway bakery. The "motivation" literally dripped off, in the negative sense that is.
Multitasking is also not their strong suit and they would prefer to do it step by step, instead of working faster so that the queue moves faster, to think that there are 3 employees behind the counter.
The products are of good quality as we are used to from Kamps, but the staff could be better trained. If you like to wait long for a terrible service, this is the place for you! If I could give 0 stars for the service I would, unfortunately google uses 1 star.

Read moreGot YELLED at by a server down the other end of the store for using my phone camera translate app on a big sign on the counter in German (I am english speaking) that had a big arrow and seemed to be directing customers. The translation did indeed tell me that there was no service in that area and to proceed to a different register. I showed the employee who had yelled across the store in front of everyone at me (which was very embarrassing for me) my phone screen to show I had a photo translation of the sign and she continued to yell 'No!' at me. I said 'I am not allowed to translate?' 'NO!' She was so aggressive and rude and left me feeling so embarrassed for having tried to do the right thing and follow their instructional signs that I left immediately without purchasing anything. Read moreI went here on September 30th, 2025 around 5pm, and it was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The woman working was incredibly rude — she kept pretending not to hear me or understand me, even though I was clearly asking for something simple: a cappuccino and a croissant. It was so bad that even the locals around me stepped in to repeat my order out of frustration with her behavior.
It wasn’t a language issue — it was attitude. She was dismissive, unprofessional, and made the entire experience uncomfortable. Looking back, I should have taken the negative reviews seriously before walking in. Save yourself the disappointment and avoid this place. There are far better cafés in Cologne that actually value...
