if you want to go somewhere to wait 1 hour for a sandwich you will love this place. I went with my family as we ordered we asked about decaf coffee, the waitress said she would find out and never returned. She took our order for food which was not complex, a croissant, 2 scrabled eggs with extra cheese and a sandwhich. After 40 minutes the croissant turned up, the eggs turned up but no extra cheese - we had to ask for Salt and Pepper as the eggs were poorly seasoned. In addition my partner who ordered the sandwich is pregnant so we made them aware that we needed her food ASAP when ordering. After we had all finished our food with the exception of my partner whose sandwich was yet to make an appearance i asked the waitress and she said we never ordered it... she said apologies and would ask the kitchen to make it straight away. After 15 minutes i went to ask where it was, she stated the kitchen were making it and pointed me to see. I saw three people around a plate putting ingredients onto bread. All was clear why it had taken so long to make a sandwich. I asked for the bill stating i would not pay for the sandwich and they tried to charge for additional items which we never received. It is a shame that they do not recognise good customer service and i don't think they will survive much longer due to the length of time to make the...
Read moreEdit: Apparently 2/5 was very generous so I’m gonna lower it. Where to start with this travesty of a shop. We heard that the place was under new management, and we wanted to give it another chance. Oh boy we were so wrong! The staff was as usual unfriendly and robotic. The coffee was ok but clearly came out of an automatic machine. Now for the piece le resistance. We ordered the following: a basque cheese cake, a cupcake, a lotus cake and 2 macarons. Starting off easy.
The macarons: never came. When the time to pay came, we told them and instead of apologizing they rudely told us that we should have told them. Like… it’s your job to make sure that the table has everything. Maybe checking in with us to see if everything is ok. The cupcake: a stale horrible mess. The cake might have been sitting in their display from 400BC, hard, dry and stale. The frosting wasn’t really a frosting rather a flavoured whipped cream. The basque cheese cake: completely overcooked and not creamy mostly resembling a New York cheesecake rather than anything else. The lotus cake: That was the most absolute disaster. It looked like somebody vomited in a tray and just added lotus cream on top. Not only that. They knew it was crap, still tried to convince us to buy it.
Place should be avoided at all costs if you even have taste buds and shred of...
Read moreI don't understand. Did they have an off-day when we visited..?
It was a Sunday morning and several people were there for the brunch buffet. We didn't have much time so we ordered a la carte. The bagels and sandwiches were alright, though more on the bland side. Drinks were also rather bland, just tasted really watered down. But the one that takes the cake...was the dessert.
The Macarons cost 2,50€ each (I actually don't know if it's expensive, I bake Macarons and never really bought them before) and they were clearly undermixed. The shells were bumpy, dull, and above all; crunchy. One of them don't even match in size!! I was too baffled to flip it and take pics with the tiny shell on the top side, but maybe you can already see it on the pics I did take.
And the cupcake that had a Macaron topping? It's...crushed? A shell I'd discard (by eating it immediately) if it came out of my oven. A failure. No clue how much this cupcake cost, but how do you even serve this I have no idea.
At first I only took pictures to laugh about it. But after seeing perfectly shiny and smooth Macaron shells in Aldi (3,50€ for 12 minis!!) I just had to write this review.
And the other pictures posted here seem fine??? Or are they just blurred to oblivion?? One star for the nice service and free WiFi. I don't think we'll ever be...
