Good but currently maybe too overvalued We were here celebrating the 70s b'day of the mom of a friend. Even the reservation was let's say special. They 'allow us to stay for a slot of 2 hrs, not more. Sorry, but to me it sounds rude and disrespectful. So, we started the evening already with a slightly bad taste. The lady of the day looked awesome and happy, so we ordered wine and bruchetta as a starter. It was not bad, but not special. It was like homemade. The main dishes were a mixture of pizza, pasta and zuddles. The zucchini 'pasta' was pretty good, gambas made the dish yummy. The pizza was really good. It seems they are famous for the oversized pizza - but pls keep in mind they do it in a normal electronic oven, not on a oven with wood. Personally I think it's overpriced for the quality provided. The pasta, ordered was Carbonara, was technically a real Carbonara. So, not with cream like a lot of German restaurants are serving it, but nicely cooked according to the Italian cuisine. Unfortunately the chef forgot to use salt and pepper. I might be wrong but for me also the pecorino cheese was missing or the Parmesan was too strong - don't know. I am sure the restaurant has its fans and visitors who love it. But for the b'day of an older lady it is by far the...

This experience was a complete letdown from start to finish.

We were seated at 8:20 p.m., placed our order by 8:26, and didn’t receive our food until 9:25 — almost an hour later. Meanwhile, multiple tables who arrived after us were served, finished their meals, and left while we were still waiting with nothing on the table.

I tried to ask several different waiters for help. I even asked one directly to bring the manager — they said they would and then never came back. No one checked in, no updates, nothing. We were just ignored.

When the pizza finally arrived, mine was burnt — not just lightly charred, but fully blackened around the crust. I politely brought this up to the manager (finally at 9:48 p.m.) and was told, “You should’ve told the waiter earlier.” Seriously?

She was standing at the bar the entire time — in full view of our table. I tried to get help from multiple staff. The blame was shifted to us like it was our job to go manage their team. As a “gesture,” she offered us a free iced tea or coffee… at nearly 10 p.m.

We weren’t rude. We didn’t demand anything unreasonable. We just wanted food in a normal timeframe and to be treated like paying guests. Instead, we got ignored, served burnt food, and then subtly blamed for...

This was a really bad experience... unfortunately. When we arrived (27-12-22) they told us pizza was sold out?! Okay.. strange but we ordered pasta instead. We waited for more then 45 minutes ..when our food finaly arrived the pasta with shrimps missed out of...shrimps, on all three portions we ordered. Two lasagnas were cold. In the meanwhile the pizzaman apparently arrived and pizzas were being made (it already was a strange story ..pizza's sold out in a pizzaria) while we were still waiting on the right dishes we ordered. The beers we ordered were forgotten. I am not the complaining type but now went to the waitress who was very aggitated and she told me: 'this is the worse day of my life'. She offered us coffee on the house. Okay...we got our coffee quite quick but no sugar and the one tea we ordered was also...forgotten. We are really patient customers but this restaurant was even for us a great disappointment. And as you can guess....also the bill took a long time to reach us. We had to ask three times. Only saying we would leave if no one would come helped a bit...and they were very unkind to us...

When you simply need to treat yourself, but don't want to spend too much money in the middle of Düsseldorf, THIS is the place to be. I've been here at L'Osteria Jahnstrasse quite a few times, but tonight was special. The music was thankfully not too loud, and my leather-bound chair was very comfy. My service specialist was the extraordinary(!) Sekia. From her 5-star professionalism for everybody at EVERY table she happily served, to her heartfelt enthusiasm with her colleagues and the cooking staff in the open-kitchen. as well as her passion to please during the peak dinner hours: everything about her was a wonder to behold! My noodles was al dente and flavourful, (and I should also mention the massive pizzas they have.) The red wine was fitting, and I enjoyed an all-round wonderful experience for dinner. Thanks Sekia, and thanks to the whole team. Definitely recommend!
