I'm a coffee snob. That means I don't have the time nor the patience to drink coffee that isn't good! So when I asked a friend about the best coffee in Düsseldorf, she showed me Pure Coffee at the CarlsMarkt in centre of town. I was not disappointed - I think this was the best Cortado I've ever had outside of my own house! Es gibt Orte, die sich nicht aufdrängen, sondern einfach da sind – wie eine kleine Oase mitten im Trubel des Alltags. Pure Coffee by KaffeeReich ist ein solcher Ort. Hier fanden wir nicht nur eine Tasse Cappuccino, sondern einen Moment der Stille, der Aufmerksamkeit und des genussvollen Innehaltens.

Der Cappuccino überzeugte mit intensiver Aromatik, einer herben Note, die kraftvoll, aber nie aufdringlich wirkte. Ein Kaffee, der seine Balance meisterhaft hält – kräftig, ohne zu dominieren, sanft, ohne an Charakter einzubüßen.

Begleitet wurde er von einem Croissant mit Pistaziencreme und einem Pain au Chocolat – beides von jener feinen Krossheit, jener luftigen Leichtigkeit, die echtes Handwerk verrät. Kein überzuckerter Überfall auf die Sinne, sondern ein federleichter Genuss: zart, luftig, krümelig – so, wie es sich für französisches Feingebäck gehört. Die Portionen wirken großzügig, und doch bleibt jedes Teil ein eleganter Begleiter zum Kaffee, nicht eine schwere Last.

Das freundliche Personal empfing uns mit einer Wärme, die die Vorfreude auf den Genuss nur noch steigerte.

We visited during a short trip to Düsseldorf at the end of a trip through London, Paris, and Bruges. Although we had just spent 6 days in Paris, these were the best croissants we tried of the trip! Great flavor, very flaky, excellent price. We got the pistachio and lemon meringue which both were delicious! Cappuccinos were also well made and beautiful.
