A good place to relax and have a bite to eat. I ordered a latte and coconut bread. To be honest, I didn't like the coffee (the flavour was a bit peculiar for me), but the coconut bread exceeded all my expectations. It was more like a slice of muffin in texture. I was also pleased with the availability of sockets. The staff speaks English, which makes communication much easier for tourists. I can at least give two stars for that! This is a nice addition to the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I usually love Epitome and think it’s one of the best coffee spots in town, but I had a really frustrating experience yesterday. I tried to pay with Apple Pay, but the card reader asked for a physical card—which I didn’t have and also let the cashier know about it so she could renew the payment for me to try with another card. This had happened before, but another cashier let me cancel and retry with a different card on Apple Pay. This time, the cashier refused to help and kept asking me to pay with cash or a physical card. I had neither, and she wasn’t willing to try again. Really disappointing service. Selected fruity beans as recommended. The first flat white was very German as it had large milk volume (according to the barista). I try another one with less milk, which I liked the intensity. Unfortunately, the milk frothing for the second flat white wasn’t as good as the first (temperature and too much foam).

All in all a great cafe worth visiting. They market themselves as an Australian style espresso bar as the barista had lived there for 6 years. Would be great if half the cafes in Sydney had...
