Excessive Tip Demands In Europe and Germany, tipping is optional and not mandatory. However, this restaurant acted as if tipping was compulsory, like in the United States. When I requested the bill, they persistently pressured me to leave a tip, making the situation quite uncomfortable.

Dieses Restaurant verhielt sich jedoch so, als wäre es obligatorisch, ähnlich wie in den USA. Als ich die Rechnung verlangte, wurde ich wiederholt dazu gedrängt, Trinkgeld zu geben, was die Situation sehr unangenehm machte.

Unfriendly Service & Reservation Issues At first, the staff welcomed us warmly, but during the meal, they suddenly informed us that we couldn’t stay for more than two hours. They claimed that since we didn’t have a reservation, we had to leave by 7 PM. If the table was reserved, they should have informed us when we entered. Instead, they abruptly made this demand while we were still eating, which was extremely unpleasant. When we complained, the staff showed no concern.
Unfreundlicher Service & Reservierungsprobleme Zunächst wurden wir freundlich begrüßt, aber mitten im Essen wurde uns plötzlich mitgeteilt, dass wir nicht länger als zwei Stunden bleiben dürfen. Da wir keine Reservierung hatten, sollten wir bis 19 Uhr gehen. Wenn der Tisch reserviert gewesen wäre, hätten sie uns das beim Betreten des Restaurants sagen müssen. Stattdessen wurde diese Forderung während des Essens abrupt gestellt, was sehr ärgerlich war. Als wir uns beschwerten, zeigte das Personal keinerlei Interesse.
불친절한 서비스 및 예약석 문제 처음에는 반갑게 맞이했지만, 식사 중 갑자기 2시간 이상 머물 수 없다는 통보를 받았습니다. 우리가 예약 없이 들어왔다는 이유로 19시까지 나가야 한다고 했습니다. 만약 예약된 자리였다면 입장 시 미리 고지했어야 하는데, 식사가 한창 진행 중일 때 갑자기 이런 요구를 한 것은 매우 불쾌했습니다. 이에 대해 항의했으나, 종업원은 상관없다는 태도를 보였습니다.

It is really difficult to get a good crust with well cooked medium rare from it. I just want the meat to be cooked from the kitchen.
The staff persuade me to order the 1000g tomahawk because it is a dry aged meat and will come on a lava rock (He was very proud and trying to presented the lava rock on the table). Well, I decided to give it a chance and order a tomahawk. OK, now I expect a tomahawk on a lava rock.
However, I got a 400g ribeye instead. I don't know why. And to make things worse, it came on a lava rock. The staff cooked the steak on the lava rock for me and I got a grey steak in the end.
After I finished my meat dish, staff came to collect the plate. There is some unfinished bread in the basket which I still eating. The staff came and took the bread basket away without saying anything. I think he realized on the way he walked that I might not finish the bread yet so he turned and made a kind of hand signal question to ask me whether I was done with it or not. However, it was too late to ask.

Read moreA friend and I went there 2 days ago on her birthday for dinner. I ordered the steak salad. BIG mistake. They served the appetizers and even though I asked for the steak salad to be served at the same time as the appetizers, my salad took another 40 min. When it was finally served, the salad was a big disappointment. Steak was burned to no end and salad was swimming and I mean swimming in dressing. You couldn’t even tell if the salad was fresh or not because of the amount of dressing in it.
I called a waiter and told him about the problem. I asked for the salad to be taken off the bill (it was simply disgusting and a big disappointment). He went to talk to his boss (or the boss’s wife), who told him that in order to take it off the bill, the waiter would have to PAY the salad himself. Of course he was mad at me when he came back. I asked him if I could talk to the boss or the boss’ss wife (the boss had a day off and only his wife was available). He said that, that is not possible. I told him I would give him the 20€ (that the salad costs) as a tip instead.
I was really surprised and mad about how the situation was handled, how a waiter who didn’t even cook the food was asked to pay for a complaint and how the boss (‘s wife) refused to talk to me.
