Recently, my family and I had the joy of dining at Kiwi's - Café, Bar & Restaurant in Frankfurt and I can't help but share how wonderfully delighted we were with our experience. The entire visit was marked by delicious food, a cozy atmosphere, and top-notch service.

We had the pleasure of trying the Chicken Finger Tikka, the Crunchy Chicken Burger, and the Why Why Chicken. Each dish was an adventure in itself. The Chicken Finger Tikka, with its juicy chicken breast strips wrapped in a crispy Indian naan bread tikkapanade, paired beautifully with the refreshing yoghurt mint dip. It was a delightful fusion that danced on our tastebuds.

The Crunchy Chicken Burger was an absolute hit. The chicken breast was breaded with crunchy cornflakes, which provided a unique, delightful texture. The accompaniment of fresh coleslaw, tomatoes, cucumber, and wedges perfectly balanced the dish.

The Why Why Chicken, grilled chicken breast with sambal oelek, served with rice and a mixed salad, was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The heat of sambal oelek was a welcome contrast to the milder dishes, providing a comprehensive culinary experience.

The warm and friendly ambiance at Kiwi's contributed greatly to our positive experience. The staff were attentive and cordial, making us feel like special guests in a home away from home.

All in all, Kiwi's - Café, Bar & Restaurant Frankfurt is a remarkable dining destination. This place has the aesthetic, but not the right staff. We had (confirmed) reservations that was appointed the day before. When we arrived, it took 10 minutes just to be noticed and spoken to. Then, when we gave our reservation name, they had a hard time finding a place for us to sit and they were not even that busy. It then took 20 minutes for someone to come to us with drink menus (no food menus) and ask for our order, after multiple waitresses and servers passed our empty table and no acknowledgement, and we were glanced over when we tried to get someone's attention. Servers. Waitresses. Bartenders. Managers. No one remotely acknowledged us, I guess they were busy taking everyone's lamps and moving tables, but there are plenty of staff. Finally the owner/manager of the bar took our drinks, two simple cocktails, and we waited 30 minutes. We were at the table next to the bar (bartender was on his phone the entire time). After 30 minutes, we decided to leave. We were there a total of 90 minutes with no drink, no food menu. The only acknowledgement we had was when we were seated and when our drinks were taken, we felt like no one cared about us. Maybe it was an off day, maybe everyone was tired, understandable. But we were really looking forward to this reservation and to be treated like an inconvenience, or treated like we weren't worth the time was really a shame. I would advise not to come here if they appear to be too busy to handle...

During my recent visits to Kiwis, I observed interactions that raised concerns about potential racial disparities in the treatment of customers. As a Caucasian individual, I felt a noticeable difference in how I was treated compared to other patrons.

I noticed that the staff seemed more engaging and accommodating with customers of other ethnicities, whereas my interactions were often marked by a lack of warmth or, at times, even dismissiveness. This contrast was particularly evident during busy periods when the difference in customer service became more pronounced.

It's important to acknowledge that such perceptions can be subjective and influenced by a variety of factors. However, the consistency in this pattern over multiple visits led me to feel that there might be an underlying issue of bias.

I believe that addressing such issues is crucial for creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all customers. I hope that by sharing my experience, Kiwis can take steps to evaluate and ensure equitable treatment of all patrons, regardless of their race."
