Rote Bar — Restaurant in Frankfurt

HORRIBLE SERVICE NOT RECOMMENDABLE AT ALL! a group of 4 friends and I recommended by myself went there because of the nice vintage flair and cocktails but after that visit I decided not to put a foot on that place ever again. I thought I was used to the bad service in bars and restaurants in Frankfurt but this was just an abuse! We were five people. The bar was crowded, so we stood at a corner as we didn't have a reservation. A young lady came to us bringing us the cocktail menu and to take the order. Everybody has ordered something but me as I didn't want to order immediately. (I would like to clarify that my intention was in any moment to consume). I told her I would order later so she came back after 5 minutes. I told her again that I would order but later, so after 2 minutes she came again and told me that I HAVE to order something. I literally swore to her that I would order but later because I didn't feel like drinking anything at that very moment. My other 4 friends had already ordered their cocktails anyway. After 2 minutes came a male colleague and said to me very directly that I rather order something or I should leave the place. As I didn't want to make a scene because I was the one who recommended the place, I stayed and obeyed. After pushing 10 minutes long for me to order something they took over 20 minutes to bring me the drink of course served in a small whiskey glass. This place is definitely a gem in Frankfurt. A very nice place, a proper place to have cocktail. The bartender is very elegant, kind and super skillful! He really knows what to do! To find this place, one cannot expect a huge neon sign that says "Rote Bar" in front of the bar to identify it. Instead, one has to ring a bell on a building that looks like a normal appartment. Ring the only doorbell that says "Rote bar". In a few moments, a gentleman with a suit will greet you and take you inside to have you this very unique experience. Nice bar with a speakeasy vibe, which makes for a classy, hidden, and upscale experience. This bar knows their classics and we each enjoyed the cocktails that we had, which were an old fashioned and a manhattan. I also tried the Smokey Boulevardier, which as a boulevardier fan, was something new and worked very well. A couple of notes for those interested in coming here, especially those on travel: the bar has a dress code and does not allow shorts and also the bar is also cash only.
