Zum Bitburger — Restaurant in Frankfurt

I normally do not give 1 star unless really really negative or bad experience. However here is my first 1 star review. I still hope i misunderstood, and could be cultural difference, it seems like the did not want to serve asian. Make us stand and wait for 15 minutes until i walked out the front door. No server or host/hostess greeting nor asking. Just looking at me and while they were serving their tables around. Was it even busy? No i so bunch of tables were empty. Moreover, there were another customer come in after me who got serve by waiter right away. Because i do not speak German, i did not understand what they are saying, but seem like they knew each other. Going to a locals’ bar as a tourist is always an interesting experience. We arrived in the early evening and it was packed with dozens of people in business clothes, clearly local finance and business professionals. It seemed a little intimidating from the outside because we weren’t dressed as nicely as everyone and felt out of place at first, but we quickly found a place to sit and realized that nobody cared how we looked. The bartenders are clearly pros and worked with practiced efficiency. Beers came fast and cold. We didn’t order food but it was leaving the kitchen in a steady stream to other tables, and all looked good. Eigentlich bin ich früher gerne hierher gekommen. Die Preise sind dank Banken- und Börsen Afterwork Biertrinker im oberen Segment angesiedelt. Das ist auch völlig okay, wenn Essen, Service und Ambiente ebenfalls gehoben sind. Das ist hier leider (!) nicht mehr der Fall.

Ambiente: Die Gaststätte ist urig und man kann auch draußen stehen. Die Toiletten im Keller sind eine Katastrophe. Es stinkt so doll nach Urin, dass man die Luft anhalten muss. Die Handtuchspender sind dauernd kaputt, also zerschlagen und werden nicht gewechselt. Die rechte Kabinentür hat kein Schloss mehr. Der Boden ist ununterbrochen total verklebt. In der Gaststätte selbst kann man es mittags nicht aushalten. Ein Stammgast ist täglich da, ununterbrochen das Handy auf Lautsprecher und schreit dauernd wie ein Verrückter, weil er seine Pferdewetten dort macht. Das gesamte Personal raucht verbotenerweise im Lokal, sowohl an der Theke, als auch im hinteren Bereich. Das halte ich für eine Speisegaststätte mit dem Preisniveau für sehr respektlos. Das Personal ist grundfreundlich, aber distanziert und man hat nicht Bock auf alle Gäste. Zeigt man auch.

Essen: Essen ist okay, aber nicht mehr. Lunch kostet ohne Vorspeise, ohne Dessert, ohne Espresso ca.16-18 Euro. Bei den kleinen Portionen einfach frech. Reklamationen interessieren nicht.

Ich werde das Lokal endgültig nicht mehr besuchen und kann es leider auch nicht...
