I came to this cafe twice, my first visit was okay, I enjoyed the aesthetics of the drinks so I thought about trying it again. However, on my second visit, I was left disappointed by the service and portions of the food that I've ordered. After being given the menu, we waited for our order to be taken, and it took way too long. We decided to just let the personnel on the counter know what we wanted to order. Which, in my opinion, is just weird. Why are we being seated if our order is not being taken? This was not the case the first time, and I also witnessed that other guests had their orders taken at their tables. Now regarding the food: even tho the taste was fine, the portion, however, was not. For the price of ~10€ I expected more than a mediocre waffle (it was two small waffles with a bunch of fruits and souce). Let's talk about the aesthetics: this cafe relies a lot on aesthetics, which doesn't have to be bad, but I just wished it didn't as much as it does. The ambiance of the whole place is minimalistic, with bare minimum effort. The tables are good - if you want to drink something. However, I doubt anyone finds it comfortable to crouch while eating food. The drinks come with a cute flower on top, which is nice, but that alone doesn't convince me to spend almost 20€ for a small portion of waffles...
Read moreSlow. 5 stars for food presentation. 3 stars for taste. For example, hollandaise sauce tasted like aioli, not hollandaise - or it was hollandaise out of the bottle. Early breakfast became brunch with the slow food preparation as the experience took close to 1.5 hours.
We were more or less first customer for the morning and it took them over 15 mins to bring out hot drinks that were lukewarm. Lukewarm hot beverage on a cold winter day is not a good combination. The breakfast items (French toast and croffle with poached eggs) took around 5 mins. Croffle is just marketing term. It lacks distinction compared to America waffle and Belgium waffle. Croffle was hard to manage/chew due to stretchy bread consistency.
Definitely not the place if you are time sensitive. Customer's time should be respected in a busy Hamburg waterfront district. It was okay to try once but fell short of my considering to return there again or recommend to friends.

Read moreThe cafe is easy to find if you don't follow Google maps instruction. Just search for Google office and the cafe will be just across the corner.
The layout is lovely and chill, as well as the barista. Both cash and card payment are accepted. There aren't many seats though.
About the beautiful drinks and food, I'm not convinced. The Forget me never tasted mediocre, bland and feels a bit gritty. The bulgogi croffle (7,5€) feels like a rip-off with 2 pieces of chicken ham with a little drizzle of Bulgogi sauce. Even the Feldsalat wasn't washed properly as I could feel the sand/dirt in my mouth eating it.
The mochi waffle is really crunchy and also chewy - pretty interesting and unique. So that will be the only thing I recommend here.
Come over if you want nice food photo. Otherwise, not...
