Hello, thank you for giving me a decent meal here.
This is actually the first time I’ve ever written a review about something. Today, I was served by a young man wearing glasses and dressed in black. I don’t speak German or Chinese, so we communicated in English. I remember clearly saying that I could only handle a little bit of spice, so I ordered the “Pilzen” option from the menu, since I didn’t see any chili icon next to it. Unfortunately, I received a bowl of noodles that was quite spicy. When I went to pick it up, I was a bit shocked, but I still smiled and enjoyed the whole bowl along with a bubble tea that came without any toppings (which was probably my fault for not making it clear that it doesn’t include peals).
I’ve been in his shoes for many years — working in a country that’s not my home. Now, I’m in a position where I pay people like him their wages. I understand how hard and challenging each role can be.
But I think I’d be very sad if someone at one of my shops treated an Asian guest the way he did. Even though opening a restaurant is, of course, for making money, I believe the owner always hopes that customers will receive the best service and a warm, welcoming attitude.
I truly hope that when Asian guests come to this place — even if they struggle with ordering — they will still leave with a big, happy smile.
Wishing you all the best in...
Read moreI’ve been dining here quite a few times due to its variety of ingredients and have quite liked the place before, yet I was totally shocked by the rude service attitude of the shift lead on the phone call when I tried to ask if I can change one or two ingredients in my delivery order. Her answer was ‘no way’ ‘we are not allowed to do so’ but then said that ‘efficiency is important for us so we won’t do customisation’, so which answer is the truth? The phone was then hang up by her when I was still in shock by the unfriendly tone and confusing answer that didn’t make sense. I have never experienced any restaurants including fast food who would respond that way.
I don’t know what is the motto of the story, perhaps she wants to deliver the message that efficiency is of their top priority so don’t expect a...
Read moreThis is one of the two or three restaurants selling Malatang in Hamburg. The food itself is good, and you can tell that from the popularity of the restaurant during meal time.
You can pick the broth and everything that goes in the broth by yourself and that’s the beauty of Malatang. However, one must be careful not to over-order…
Overall ambient is soso, you should treat it as a little noodle shop that you come for a quick meal, rather than a place to sit down for a long time. They have a good selection of vegetarian ingredients and Asian drinks. I wouldn’t go for the bubble tea there, tried it and the taste is...
