Review: Disappointing Experience Despite Tasty Food
I visited here yesterday with my wife for a couple of shawarma sandwiches, and unfortunately, the overall experience left a lot to be desired—despite the food itself being tasty.
We both ordered Shawarma sandwiches, but the service was slow and communication was a real challenge. Even though we spoke clearly, the waiters didn’t seem to understand us and kept chatting among themselves near our table, which felt unprofessional.
The real problem came when it was time to pay. Despite being a busy restaurant in a central location, they refused to accept card payments—no credit, no debit—only cash, with no explanation given. My phone battery was nearly dead, we were tired, and we had a long journey home ahead. My wife had to stay behind while I walked the streets looking for an ATM. It was stressful, inconvenient, and completely avoidable.
When I returned with cash, someone else was at the counter, so I had to explain everything again just to pay for our meal. It honestly ruined the experience for us.
Yes, the food was good, but food isn’t everything. Service, convenience, and customer respect matter just as much. In a city where most people expect to pay by card, refusing cards feels outdated—and even raises concerns. Why avoid digital transactions when you serve so many customers?
If you're someone who prefers quick, convenient service or relies on card payments, this place might not be for you. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves both service and payment options...
Read moreThis is second for me in this restaurant and I believe that the atmosphere here is very nice and traditional 👌. They take care of all the details from the uniform, decoration, furniture, and even the air fragrance. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I find it kind of pricey. Food is fair, I did not try an extraordinary dish. I ordered shawarma it was fair or even under my expectations for such a nice place. For the other dish it is a plate of mixed grill with rice, motable, and humus. The meat is grilled on point. They server at the end a cup of tea, where I have huge concern about the how clean it is, because I got the cup with lipstick marks on it, and we got the dishes, they were oily from the back side as well. And to be fair the toilets were clean and...
Read moreLamira City restaurant was just a short walk from my hotel, The Niu, and I stopped by because I was a bit hungry. I ordered the chicken shawarma and an Ayran, and both were really delicious! The flavors were fresh and well balanced.
The place was quite busy, with lots of people coming and going, which shows how popular it is. Despite that, service was quick and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, a great spot for a tasty and affordable meal. Highly recommend if...
