The supercool person preparing our teas recognized my husband Arataki Itto on my shirt and. I almost screamed. It legit made my week. ANYWAY--
My experience with Pankai has been great, it's really very very unique compared to other Bubble Tea places. The selection of tea is totally different, lots of desserts (I sadly haven't tried them yet, but I GOTTA) and the interior is... I will just say I was super impressed, there are flowerpots with artificial trees with beautiful white flowers and on the upper story there is a secluded room!! I will let the photos of other reviewers do the talking but it is so atmospheric and comfortable--
I've taken Oni Phantom (kind of obvious why as my husband is an Oni and his hair is the same color as the tea-- UM) and what surprised me was, it was not sweet at all?? Which is a great thing, I also really loved the addition of berries and the entire drink had... Stages of drinking, I'm not sure how to say it, layers? Drinking it wasn't just static experience, I'm sure you know what I mean- I discovered something new whether I was sucking up the berries, drinking the coconut milk, the syrup/juice on the very bottom or eating hantian jelly. It is a rare experience !! My girlfriend ordered Inazuma Sky and it was. AMAZING. So refreshing and had this fizzy taste to it- She's had brown sugar flip latte (???) before and she says it's the best she's ever had and we were in very, very many Bubble Tea cafes. The only ONLY thing which made me sad is that I didn't get a pandan leaf with my tea (it came sealed) and I was too shy to ask for one--
Overall I'm super excited to come again! We loved it to the point we're gonna take a train for 1,5+ hours (4 hours riding the train in total with return) ONLY to go to Pankai in a few days. Only there I felt that amazing comfortable feeling like you feel on anime conventions. ;__; I would love to stay there for hours and order everything on the menu HAHA for real tho, the teas are so unique and it's super hard to decide !! It seems like a perfect place to go after school/uni and sit with friends, it makes me wish I...
Read moreWe ordered mango sticky rice, and the ice cream inside was really tasty, which was a unique and delightful twist with the sticky rice. However, the sticky rice had a strange green color, and some parts weren't fully cooked, making it really hard to chew and swallow, and it upset my stomach a bit.
The Frozen Pankai was amazing, especially the coconut coffee ice. It was fantastic!Love it!
On the other hand, the Brown Sugar Pankai was a bit bland, and the taste of the brown sugar was odd, almost medicinal. It didn't quite match the flavors I expected from other Vietnamese bubble tea shops, so it was a bit disappointing.
As for the Thai Dalgona mocha, it was decent. My partner really liked it.
Another small dessert, Bang Flan, was actually like an egg tart filling with pearls, and it was exceptionally delicious.
We spent 29 euros on these five items, so our expectations were high, but it didn't quite feel like it was worth the price.
This place got Wifi and nice deco,so thats a plus point.Nice...
Read moreI didn't have Boba tea here, so no comment on that. But the Boba pearls are too soft and doesn't have enough bite for my liking.
I was also here with some friends and they ordered flan/caramel cake. That tasted not good at all: not sweet, tasteless, not creamy but somehow feels very fatty. So please, avoid this.
The Vietnamese egg coffee was not great. Too little egg cream and coffee is also pretty normal.
The 2 Vietnamese desserts in my photos here are good, however too sweet. They also didn't have the gentle light sweetness but rather hard sweetness which comes from only refined white sugar. The rice for chè is really well cooked though.
The staff, or actually the owner, took a long time to make my coffee because he was chitchating with his friends. My husband was here once for these 2 desserts and also experienced the same thing.
There is some space to sit upstairs, with chairs or without chairs Japanese style. It is quite nice to stay there...
