Beautiful interiors and the food was amazing, as always, however last time I visited the service left a lot to desire.
After arriving and being shown our table, it took a very long time to get our drinks order taken - the waitstaff were not very busy, they just seemed to have more interested in one another rather than us and our assigned gentleman server just seemed to have more interested in everybody else rather than us, including the tables next to us who arrive at the same time as we did.
Finally when the server decided it was time to take our order, my partner got interrupted mid-sentence by our server because the table next to us (who seemed more important to him) needed salt, so after he ran to grab the salt and deliver it to the other table, he came back to us and took our order.
After ordering our main dishes, we decided we wanted to order some wine. We asked our server if he had any red wine recommendations - next thing he tells us is that we should go for the cheapest option. We assured him the price was not an issue and that we just were looking for a nice bottle of wine that paired well with our beef.
The interactions through the whole entire evening felt tasteless and very uncomfortable. I love this restaurant, but for +€100 per person for dinner, I would expect way...

From the outset, the evening suggested a team operating with quiet confidence. The Negroni — often a deceptively simple test — was well composed. The focaccia, served with anchovies, made for a nice bite in between courses; the pasta was perfectly al dente, while the shrimp salad stood out the most for me. These are not easy achievements on a busy opening night — they speak to a kitchen already in control.
Service was equally notable: attentive, genuinely warm, and not without a good sense of humor. Special mention is due to Luca and Benny, whose professionalism and charisma left a lasting impression. That the entire service team performed so well while clearly enjoying themselves only added to the sense that something special is beginning here. My utmost respect to the team.
I look forward to exploring the menu further very soon. Pellicano promises not just to be a welcome addition to Hamburg’s dining scene, but to offer something...
Read moreI was genuinely impressed with this restaurant. Despite not having a reservation, we were promptly seated without any wait, which was a pleasant surprise. The service was exceptional, our waiter quickly noticed I wasn’t a local and kindly explained the menu in English, offering thoughtful recommendations that made me feel truly welcomed.
The food was delicious and well-prepared, though the portion sizes were on the smaller side. That said, the pricing was fair and reasonable. My only critique would be the portion size, as I expected slightly more.
Overall, the atmosphere, service, and quality make this one of the most beautiful and enjoyable dining experiences I’ve had in Hamburg. I’ll definitely be...
